    It's finally back!!!

Well I'm a bit lighter in the pocket to say the least!!!

2 and a half weeks without the motor after the clutch went, I finally got it back this morning along with a bill for £1244!!!
For that I got a new clutch, master and slave cylinder, new dual mass flywheel and a new bomb. (So not too bad when you break it all down)
They had pleanty of problems getting it done, mainly with the flywheel 2 of the ones sent out to them were broken on arrival which is what caused the main delays.

Can't really fault the garages service though they kept me informed all the way with what was going on, all the old parts were there for me to see when I picked the car up as you'd expect and with the exception of the flywheel the clutch and fitting was actually cheaper than the original quote. Still quite an unplanned expense so some of the modification is on hold for another month.
At least I've got a garage full of parts already to keep me busy with 996 brake upgrade, Koni's and H&R's, RS2 intercooler and a new set of Samco's

Must say it's transformed the car though, the brakes are sharp the clutch is light and it pulls much better and cleaner.
Only problem now is I came to get a full 4 wheel alignment done and the front trackrod ends are siezed nothing is ever simple Ha Ha!!!
So that's my job for this week, it's only just out of tolerance but better to have it all done properly with the amount of money being ploughed into the project at the moment.
Anybody know the best place to get some replacement trackrods (I'm thinking Vagparts?) I may just be able to free off the original ones in a vice with a bit of heat but better to have a back up plan with my luck LOL!!

Anyway yet again I must recommend VW Rescue in Wombourne West Midlands for their help and persistance, they've done my servicing and other little bits and pieces for the last couple of years and they are always friendly, professional and reasonably priced. They are more experienced with UR's but they are getting more used to the S2 now they've had mine in a couple of times.

Still contemplating them Al, they've got 15 hours to go so we'll see how much they go up towards the end...
The budget's got a bit tighter now I've had the clutch done but I haven't gone bankrupt yet so if they stay at a reasonable price :mischeif:
