Well here it goes - partly the work of fantasy and guesstimation on some parameters, but its not a million miles away from what your G-Tech states. If you can correct the boost profile and any AFR measurements it will help the accuracy. Also what max air temps are you seeing - assuming you have VAG-COM ?

Note that this shows it just on the edge of Green injectors at 85% duty cycle on 4 bar fuel pressure with a max boost of 1.8bar. The choice for Orange was a wise one - gives you headroom for more boost should you ever get enough traction to use it.

@DJ, what intercoolers are u using and where have u located them? My brother has put an s2 engine in his UR with an rs2 turbo but needs to upgrade the intercooler. He has been tols to put an rs2 intercooler u have to start cutting bits and pieces etc.

That would be interesting to see. If I'm honest i know very little about this turbo apart from how it performs

          Paul,

Well done looks pretty damn accurate! from memory cruising was 22 degrees and full chat was about 40ish degrees.

The twin intercooler really do work you can feel the difference between them when you hold your hands on them after a run, in fact the second one barley feels warm nor does the inlet manifold.

The water makes a big difference.

          Thanks - Darren.

            Steve,

Their is a picture in this thread that shows their location.

One is purpose made the other is an S4 one with fabricated end caps. So both purpose made in reality.

That water is definitely working then - I reckon its removing about 5 degrees celsius from your IAT based on the normal intercooler efficiencies that I've seen / heard of. Pretty impressive that you are circa 40 celsius on a WOT run - my chipped K24 on the standard ABY intercooler runs to that when ambient is about 20. DOubt you've seen it that warm since December but your air temps seem to be well under control... and colder air is more dense which means its heavier - which means more powerrrrrrrr

Numbers never lie - the hard bit is stuff like VE - totally in the dark on that without info from a flowbench with the camshafts in question under test.

Would be intrested to hear what TD say about the turbo. When i ask, what they say does not really mean alot....

                      Hi Darren

Just read the write up in PPC mag. V nice, have a couple of questions.

Is it mapped so the ECU controls the boost or are you running just of the WG spring?

The URQ's weight 3086lb's is that with you in it?

                      Thanks

                        Hi Mark.

Running off the WG spring alone. Tried it with the ECU controlling it, its not for me prefer being able to adjust the boost together with the more aggressive nature of the car. Plus how many times do you read about WGFV problems...

The car was mapped safely at 2.5 bar i run it on a max of 2 bar so it has some head room.

The weight of the car is specific to my car with me and a quarter of tank of fuel in it. My neighbour has a way bridge.

                        How is your coming along?

                          Hi

Just interested in the weight (as unfortunately my neighbour doesn't have a weighbridge) have you lightened it at all? I think from memeory the std urq weight was rated about 1300kg so add driver and fuel it sounds about right.

Mine is coming along(at a gentle pace), bottom and block work done and in, 7a head to be finished off and intercooler(1 or 2, 1 or 2 decisions descisions! ) fabrications over the next few months. Sort the suspension and brakes out and off we go to AutoMark for a re-map.

                          Regards

No i have not knowingly lightened it, i want to keep it looking standard which doesn't leave a lot to remove..

I have however removed all the stereo equipment, surprising how heavy all that is..

Good luck with yours, Mark is a top bloke by the way..

                              Hi Darren

I'll have to get myself one of these G-Tech devices they look like fun. Do you have to wire any sensors into it? how did you get it to pick up RPM?

Have you got a wide band lambda probe on your's? do you know what AFR you are running at WOT ?

For the mapping session a wide band lamba is fitted. I have added a separate ferrell on the down pipe behind the original as the ecu needs one to.

Cant remember what the AFR on WOT was about 8 to 1 i think...
