    Time for a little update.
I have made an alcantara ceiling which is as good as finished (pictures are big but bad)

the bodywork is done and the paint is new. I still have those annoying holes in the hood but there is no money at the moment for an gfk or carbon hood so it will stay like this for a while
I also put an garmin nüvi in the console and a clarion head unit

Not all S2 were delivered with white gauges afaik, the early ones like mine came with black ones and with a black dash

Had to put the S2 away for a while as I couldn't afford a second money pit aside my girlfriend as a student. Now that I have job I want to make a track day car out of it.
So I started with stripping the interior.

Made some ugly discoveries while removing the hoses to prepare for the upcoming silicone replacement.

The engine didn't want to turn over, could have something to do with this little FLICKER

All the mounts from transmission to engine are completely shot, that might be why my alternator tried to go through the IC

had forgotten that the previous owner was a funny bloke but than I saw this

                Next things to do are:
getting the sticky black stuff out of the car's interior,
find some decent silicone hoses for air and water,
get alloy mounts for the front and the rear
and source harder engine and gearbox mounts.

Did anybody on here try the GT-Motorsport silicone hose kit?
Any idea where to get the alloy mounts ? Found some at KER-inovatec in Germany but seems expensive at 300€ for both sides.

I used the GTM boost hoses on my ex-S2, fits fine.

GTM it is. They do engine and gearbox mounts too, so that's sorted out.
                    Thanks mate.

Bought this to replace my wobbly drivers seat

In terms of power I want to try an RS2 setup.

                    7a fuel pressure regulator
                    Boscj 044 or 005 in-tank fuel pump
                    stock injectors
                    RS2 exhaust manifold
                    K24-7200
                    Wagener RS2 evo IC
                    stock DP
                    stock bottom end

Metal cat with no mid silencer.

Head seems to loose oil through the gasket so it has to come down.
If I find somebody who knows how to do it I'll get it ported and refurbished.

What do people do to limit the risk of spark hop?

I am aiming for 330 to 350 hp...

                    Any thoughts

Sorry to ruin your plan but you won't get that powerlevel with stock turbo an injectors.

Read somewhere that a stock 3b injector does 305cc @ 3bar so at 4.2 bar, due to the 7a fpr, it should do around 360cc
IIRC the RS2 injectors do have a better spray-pattern but only do 405cc at 3.8 bar
                        that makes a difference of 10 %
                        might be wrong though.
Anyway I have to admit that the injectors are the weak spot in my configuration.
                        Don't see why an RS2 (k24-7200) turbo wouldn't push 330 hp

Agree, the spray pattern of the 3B injectors is truly awful considering a decent set of new injectors is around £200 it's well worth changing them

Started to strip the engine. Most of the parts came of quite well.
Broke 3 of the 6 Bolts on the wastegate
I'm going to replace them all with new thread bar (hope I am not making up words).
Anybody BTDT or some better input...?

Is the membrane a part that must be replace regularly?

part number seems to be 035 145 797 B and for around 40 € is not that expensive but mine seems in good working order.

Ordered silicone hoses for cooling and turbo and as I want to take the head of to have a look inside I want to add some ARP bolts to it. Or should i get OEM one or stay with the old ones?

Took some time but I'm really satisfied of the result.
