    Wheel refurb - colour options?!

    Hi,

I have a Ragusa Green RS2 and the wheels are heavily corroded and need a full refurb. I went to see a good wheel refurb company yesterday and saw examples of their work...very professional. They can finish my wheels in any colour, I just need to give them the paint code. This got me thinking...maybe I should have my wheels finished in a custom colour such as dark graphite or black which might work well with the dark green colour and predominantly black trim. I could also paint the front and rear Audi rings to match...

Has anyone gone the custom colour route and was it worth it?! If I do this, will noone ever want to buy my car?!!

    Cheers

Anthracite looks good against the green IMO, black is a bit heavy. It's personal choice.

I second that. Black would be a bit strange. I would prefer anthracite or silver.

IMHO you want wheels powder coated not painted, it'll last 10x as long - much harder wearing against brake dust, salt etc etc

Yeah, powder coating is best. Loads of colours too including metallic.

Having done black before and sort of anthracite,i would say that black doesnt look as good in 17inch wheels as in bigger wheels 18and up.

I would do something like anthracite but dull not shiny effect.I have some photos if you like me to send you that i have found over the internet when i was trying to decide on a colour.Mind you,in the end i went for 18inch wheels,as they do so much credit to the car!

If you want to keep your RS2 looking "right" stick to the closest colour to OEM you can.

However, I think some 18" Anthracite wheels would look great on a Ragussa green RS. I just don't think a darker colour will suit the original Cup wheels.

                Cheers,

                Steve.

I refurbished my 17" Cup summer wheels myself and sprayed them with a silver that is a shade darker than the stock silver, but still looks perfectly OEM. Looks very good and is holding up great.
