Markus they move the door by screw adjustment.

if you turn the bottom hollow bolt clockwise the rear top of the door will rise, the bottom front of the door will move away from the wing, anti clockwise the opposite.

if you turn the top hollow bolt clockwise the rear top of the door will drop, the bottom front of the door will move towards the wing, anti clockwise the opposite.

top and bottom clockwise door moves back
top and bottom anti-clockwise door moves forward

Experiment with the bolts and you will see what happens.

This is very useful info David!!

I had a go at adjusting my drivers door tonite as there is a small amount of sag meaning on steep inclines the door needs a real slam to shut properly...

Jas11n (I think that right mate?!) gave me a great how to on doing the job but I cannot get the really recessed bolts loosened that are almost hidden between the door gap andf the wing (outer hinge bolts) due to them being silly tight

After many different spanners and mucho effort they wouldnt give and it felt like something was going to break
and the car was up on axle stands at the time so I had to be a little cautious!

Anyway...do these hidden ones "have to be undone" to adjust the hinges and if so I presume I need to remove the door to get at them with a proper socket and wrench?

Is this going to be a nitemare to re hang the door after doing that as I remember I had this problem on other cars too??

Anyones ideas would be great here

Also// has anyone actually done the pin renewal thing on the door hinges as yet? stick insect?

I think it is the hidden ones which adjust it and require only a small movement

I did this procedure recently (and then replaced all the door hinges with new anyway as they had already been adjusted almost fully!)

                See the picture attached Greg..

Bolts numbered 1 and 5 are the two involved in the process (no others)

primarily, it will be the lower bolt (#5) that you need to wind out a few turns with a large socket allen key (I forget the size atm)..but the top might also need correcting

Best way I found was undo the other bolt (top one in this case) a couple of turns to provide a little movement and put less strain on assembly when your cranking the allen key bolt out. Then just remove the lower bolt completely , insert allen key and depeding on how severe the door drop is turn the allen key in a few turns to push the hinge away from the door thereby lifting the bottom part of the door. iirc theres almost 10mm of movement available so several full turns to start is sensible as theres many more till full adjust is reached. Then what I did was put the main bolt in, check door level > readjust as required.....and then move on and tweak the top bolts allen adjuster as required making sure the bottom hinge is bolted back up tight before you do it!

                  additional....
The bolts that are very hard to get to are from what I found totally redundant in teh process...because even if they are very tight,,,the action of winding the allen bolts in or out pull or pushes them in a laterla movement (they are not fixed mount but have long slots to allow for movement.
ALso, because of the direction of pressure when you adjust the allen bolts (sideways in relation to the awkard/hidden bolts) even very tight bolts seemed to slide no problem meaning they didnt need loosening at all during the procedre

You've been really lucky then. I've adjusted three of these Coupe doors and "had" to untighten that 17mm side bolt.
Worth checking @ Greg, before loosening it though.

Depends how much force you put into turning the allen bolt (jk/ it could be that i had replaced hinges on both sides so maybe they were'nt torqued as tight as oem. were still pretty damn tight though! )
Likewise...bear this info in mind Greg!! and undo them a few turns if the allen bolts are immovable!
