Is this what you were talking about in that other thread Gav? the trim across the front and later set of lights?
Guessing Ben has a set of ellipsiods to go in?
Just junk the early steel trim, chuck it away. Get two B4 80 saloon/Avant, cabby or facelift coupe plastic under headlight trims, then you don't have to cut the inner corner mounts off a set of expensive ellipsoids.
Looking good Ben, be at SH again this year?

yes mate thats the bit. Already gave him the hockey sticks he nees, just wondered what the metal trim was originally from?
Any ideas?
It's original to his car Gav. When the facelift came along on the Coupe, early ones had that steel trim in the same style as the pre-facelift Coupes, only slightly altered now to step back behind the bonnet.
Audi must have then thought, what's the point of pressing this out of steel, only to have the centre hidden and doing nowt behind the bonnet and grille?.
Waste of money and time for them to produce it when there's cheaper ways.
Hence they junked it and went plastic, the headlamps sprouting those little tabs on the inner corners.
