    Delighted for you,

Life gives with one hand and takes with the other, and not always in the right sequence.

Best wishes with the employment side of this naturally, but the S2s and how they perform and sound is very uplifting and is like a mental crutch to help with the daily stresses of life and the extra stress about now with the World downturn.

Long may the good Karma last.

Kind regards to you Jas11n and all other members and guests.

When it's off the road, you really miss it, mines missing as it's having it's hubs changed from RS2 back to S2.

Glad the S2's back on the road mate, in stonking form and giving you that bin grin factor again - which as your post admirably outlines is indeed the very reason we love these cars. I know how you missed her those months she was laid up! And doubly nice after driving Sooty these months no doubt (no disrespect to the sooty monster!) - be like you got yer superman suit back! I get the same feling after driving the Zafira most mornings to work to save a few quid on petrol - it makes driving the S2 all that more sublime and total fun and I cant wait to get back behind the wheel. Mines still got a few little things to sort, nowt major that a go with vagcom wont sort - and as you know Im for ever hearing strange phantom noises that I think need sorting!!

      Nice one matey

        Nice post Jas.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I got mine out of the garage last week after a five month lay up in the garage. Boy did I miss it, I think I was nearly shaking with excitement.

The extra early Friday morning drive to work involved numerous overtakes that were just so powerful and easy it was a joke.

The problem is, no one else has a clue what these cars are capable of and they don't always give you the respect and room you need.

Anyway, I think I love mine nearly as much as you and I am really looking forward to some good days out this summer.

        See you all there...

Had a bit play with not one, but two E92 M3's (both 07 plates) this afternoon coming home from work.
Different cars in totally different places........are they stalking me?

First didn't expect the old Audi to stay on his slowly disappearing tail as much as it did. I actually gained on him on the three lane exit of the massive roundabout near work. I must have drove that a million times in 10 years and know it like the back of my hand.
Talk about a driver craning his neck to see what's just surprised his flash Beemer

Second was nearly back at home, on a short dual carriage way and he thought he'd be clever and use the inside lane to get across the roundabout and onto the dual.
He didn't bank on old Mr Grandpa Porkpie hat in his Rover hogging the outside lane of the dual for no reason.
Meanwhile I'd stuffed him on the inside. Bog off Mr Poser
By the time he caught up (cos they are bloody fast), I was braking hard for the next roundabout where I turn right. He didn't quite catch me but was another neck craner
My old girl forced two BM owners to crick their necks

          Oh yes, they Rock alright

That purple is mighty funky looking... I love messing with the posers in Beemers - its so funny cos they think there is nothing else on the road short of an all out supercar that can give them a run... And an umpteen year old Audi just doesn't feature in their mind as something that deserves due respect on the road.

On my way down to Cornwall a few weeks ago I came across a 54reg m3. Needless to say played with him and he couldnt get rid of me! Once stuck in the m4 speed restriction areas of roadworks i got level with him (40mph) and I think he ws surprised to see it was an old Avant not letting him impress his girly in the passenger seat... until that was it came back to normal motorway speeds. In the process of dropping into 3rd gear i completely missed by which time he had put his foot down and was gone. The shame of it was to humiliating so needless to say, my girlfriend was laughing at me in my passenger seat so i didnt chase him.

Then yetersday morning on my way out of home, a lovelly new rs4 estate drives past in the opposite direction and his jaw nearly hit the floor when he saw a young guy driving an S2 avant went the other way to him (me) He waved and craned his neck and in my rear view mirror i watched him swerve to keep on the road.

Guys the feeling these carts gives their drivers is immense!
