LOL, it came back the other day, got used to them now.
@Hiltoa, my cams were done by previous owner. Crap design flaw. Had a 2005 A6 4.2 in today for r/c gaskets/service etc, 54k miles and cams are going in that!

@ audiman - Noticed yours hiding in the corner while Doug was sorting my beastie on Tuesday, tempted to go stealthy black FMIC, but too many other gripes to address first, not to mention a cam replacement to recover from!
@ Djones - Very nice, almost a sister to mine, X***HGF
@hiltoa - I guess there must be a few about that were registered at the same garage back to back. In your foot note you say yours is a 2000, mine is a Jan 2001. Its on a private plate now though.
Not being funny here boys and girls - the performance isn't in question and they should handle damn well. I've been in just the one. but never driven it ...
Is it as much 'fun' to drive as well sorted S2 ?
I always thought they look/feel a bit too refined or smooth to be fun. Maybe when running a couple hunderd more bhp, on seriously low suspenders and huge anchors that they start to become fun. Just curious...
Gotta say though - anything you don't have to slop out in the morning is more fun than my frickin S2 at the moment

Sounds like the 500+ one I went out in yesterday, if my s2 comes out anything like that i'll be happy
Paul as you say in standard form quick (ish) but very refined. Compared to my ur though, it feels incredibly slow.. in fact 4 seconds to a hundred difference, slow..

fun - depends on what you mean by fun - the chassis is a lot stiffer than a coupe and even the s2 avant so you get more predictable and tight. On an A road, the RS4 will eat an S2 with the same power all day. Refined is the correct word to compare the rs4 to the S2.
As i have said before though, the S2 is the only Audi i get into and i am scared as to what is going to happen. I get the tingly fingers and the adrenailne rush becasue i know it is going to be a handful - that is fun.
My S2 Vs Lucas RS4 = 649bhp Vs 648bhp. Thrash through the gears my S2 creeps ahead. Thrash starting at 3k and he is 200 yards in front before i come on boost!
it was great on the h&r pcs kit, the guys that drove it were shocked at how nice the ride was.But the kw v3s are poor on this car so wil be going to bilstein pss9s soon - suspension makes a bigger differnece that nthe size. The 20s are notably heavier on turn in and acceleration though.
