Got the car fixed again after we noticed it started blowing again while at Billing, after speaking to Prism they think that too much heat may be building up on the front box so if it happens again they will just remove it and put a straight section in, which i dont think will be a bad thing, will reduce back pressure slightly and make the sound a little louder which will be good for me

I dont believe it, got home last night from the cinema and it sounds like the exhaust is blowing yet again! Getting sick of getting it fixed all the while. Dunno what I will do to get it sorted now.

Why is it blowing all the time?

        Is it at joins?

Have you got the flexi pipe in yet?

no flexi pipe in it yet, when it was taken to prism for the last time they just re welded it and pushed some heatshield out of the way. Basically got to the point of being so pissed off with seeing the car for FOC work to be done to fix it.

yeah its the join on the first box, alot of it is to do with fact they need to take exhaust off to weld it properly which they havent done.

Got an appointment at PTS in luton on saturday so will see what they can do for me and see about having a box removed and a flexi pipe put in there. amazingly its last 4 months since it was last done!

[QUOTE=Greg_S] Then my brake light has been playing up on and off too.

So ive spent most of today working on my car trying to fix all of these problems and fitting my samco's.

I finally needed to replace the brake light switcht because after two weeks of hesitation it gave up. Not very challenging task....

went to PTS today about my exhaust for a second opinion and we had a good look around it.

they reckon it needs a flexi pipe in it like i told prism and webb's putting on the first two boxes. the system needs moving back about 12mm frrom first box back to give better clearance on chassis and the exhaust hanger for back box needs modifying because the rubber keeps slipping off. Also the Marco downpipe fouls on a ridge on the gearbox so the downpipe will be coming off to be modified too.

at the rear the rear box is knocking on the chassis and the pipe over rear drive shaft makes contact in two places also.

Called prism up today and its going back down there next week to be sorted again for the last time I hope!

Gonna pay to have mods done to downpipe since they didnt make that part but the rest of it is warranty work. PTS reckoned it needed the system to be refitted almost from scratch.

Should have gone to Milltek . They did a cracking job on mine over 2 years ago and it has been perfect ever since. My system grows by up to 1.5" on a really long thrash and doesn't touch anything...not even close.

Prism really need to get this sorted for you mate. This is not good: over 6 months of recurring problems without any resolution. It must have cost you loads in fuel to travel to them to get it sorted. If it was me I would get a bit serious with them and get them to do it right or give you a full refund.

Warranties should cover manufacturing defects or materials issues NOT Design flaws. Its not fair on the customer.

If only Miltek would make an exhaust bigger than 2.5" for the Avant now. They won't even build a 2.75" system for the RS2 anymore.

Mine is 3". They did it especially as they wanted to improve on the old RS2 system. I left my car with them for a week and they tried many combinations of silencer before they got it spot on. Its a great system. I spoilt it a bit by getting the cats hollowed out. I guess bypass pipes will improve things.

Milltek have grown very quickly in recent years and must be concentrating on the more lucrative vehicles.

yeah would have got a miltek if they could have done me a 3" system but they couldnt. Kinda wish I had got it done at PTS afterall since I had a quote from both but decided to goto Prism because mark recommended them to me after they did his downpipe.

Never had no probs with my 3" DP and seperate WG exhaust from them, with regard to both integrity and fit.

Sounds like a good full exhaust system was a bit beyond them though.

looks that way doesnt it, funny really cos the downpipe was the only bit they didnt make. where abouts does your wg exhaust go down and round cos i might have that put in while im at it but not sure wether to or not

Sal, PTS quoted about £1100 to do the work from scratch and PTS quoted me £800 for the system excluding downpipe. ended up costing £990 from prism
