It sounds like you want to do things to it just for the sake of doing something, regardless of whether it looks good!

lose the graphics dude, they suck big hairy balls!

As its such a mint example, i'd put it all back to factory standard and then buy all the options like heated leather etc to make it more "individual". just my 2cents

So what your trying to say is I should restore my low milage coupe to a 100% original state and buy another coupe as a project ?
And the thought has already crossed my mind as believe me I do understand how rare the car is thats why I paid s2 money for it

what do you want out fo the car? If its a councours cars then yes, 100% original IMHO wins hands down.
if you want to start messing (as most of us do) I'd buy a run of the mill CQ and do it to that.

You have one of the best condition cars about by the look of it, please don't ruin it!

That is the way to go, retrofit every possible factory option

Well if thats how every1 (dest + error) feel then looks like im going to be buying another coupe in the next few months.
And yes it wouldnt suprise me if it was one of the cleanest coupes still around but thats what 15 years in a warehouse not being driven does. When people dont believe my milage I try to explain to them in reality for a 20 year old car it is very low but as the car was only on the road for 5 years the milage is about right for a car thats been driven for 5 years.

To be honest I have a picture photoshopped that i did a few years back well half did that I want to make the car look like but I have been unsure about it because i really like this colour ect and have often thought about buying a 2nd 1 to mess with

Bit of a thread resurrection here, but just read through, and I agree with what the others have said.

My coupe is the same colour and has already been messed with. Its not perfect, but ive done a fair bit to it. Have a look through my project thread.

Im considering selling up, is what im getting at, as im buying an S2 next week.

                    Whatcha think?

                    Kieron.

What you have to consider Kieron is what are you getting in an S2 that you can't do to your CQ for a bit extra cash, knowing a lot of work has been done?

You could 3B it for £800 ish or ABY / AAN and 6 speed for £1500 and not waste all your hard earned and time and effort...and ahve a well sorted car at the end of it...... thats what i'm doing with mine anyway. If you get an S2 you have to start again unless you buy an already well sorted / refreshed car that will cost you more etc.. worth a thought anyway?

Starting from scratch though i'd definately buy an S2 to start with, but it s a bit late now - i never intended to do this

Well im buying a well sorted car anyway. From a well known member on here. 61K, 96 ABY.

Dont want to start a thready Hi jack, but you did ask.

What I get with the S2:

                          Bodywork in excellent shape:
Mine has rust bubbling under the paint around the windscreen on the roof, and on one of the A pillars. I think the windscreen has been changed in the past, and not been done very well, the edges of the screen a quite badly discoloured/delaminated.

Mine needs a respray really, Lacquer is peeling on the roof, LH front wing, and a huge area on the bonnet. Theres a fair amount of scratches and stone chips elsewhere. The front bumper has a big scrape down the side of it that needs smoothing and painting.

Chassis wise mine is pretty much sorted, feels alot better than when I got it. But it needs either the centre bearing on the prop changing, and or the cv joints in the prop, as its all loosey goosey at the moment. Also theres some electrical gremlins, the tacho has started reverting to 4 cyl mode quite alot recently, scared the **** out of me the other day when it revved past 8000rpm.

                          And the S2 has:

Full immaculate leather interior, black headlining, glass sunroof. Aircon, 6 speed box, nothelle engine, big brake conversion. etc etc.
Some of you might have guessed whos car it is, but I dont want to say before Ive picked it up.

All things I could do to my coupe, but I dont think it would be worth it, hence why im buying the sorted car.

Ive also considered keeping it, and just having it as a track toy, and doing something throttle bodies wise in the long term. That would be awesome, but Ive yet to drive on a track soo....

Dunno what Id sell it for, after putting so much time, effort and cash into it.
                          Kieron.

understandable mate, that sounds like a top spec late S2 with a lot of nice options and proper upgrades, but then again, i bet its not £2.5k either is it?!

TBH, by the sound of it you'd not fetch much for the CQ with a cruffy body and some :corey: would only buy it to break it anyway...... throttle bodies and lumpy cams

Anyhho, sorry for the thread Hijack.. my fault

Oh yeah, throttle bodies and lumpy cams.

Newman cams are based 5 mins from me, drove past the other day I was like, wtf, why have I not seen that before!

So yeh, like you said, I dont think its worth selling as I wont get anything for it, and would probably just get broken up.
