V8 rear shocks - what's wrong with this picture?

The ride in the V8 has been getting progressively worse since I put it on the road so the time arrived to swap out the shocks. Now it's on B6 Bilsteins the ride and handling are greatly improved.

We knew the nearside rear and osf shocks were suspect but we didn't expect to find this! Guess that be how all the oil leaked out of it then

They were fine at the test. I'm guessing that going flat out over speed bumps spelt the end for them.
