Well i thought it's about time i introduced the newest member of my growing collection.
A 1993 aby coupe.

I picked it up for a fair price as it needs a few bits of bodywork sorting-nothing new there
However,inside is very clean for a 150k car,and was spot on mechanically-at least for a while-i'll get to that soon.
So when i got it it was homefried,had a boost gauge,a whiteline rarb,polybushes all round and a stainless exhaust,also a full set of coils.i've since added the following:
Lowering springs,brand new droplinks,new farb bushes and brackets,silicone boost hoses,forge dv,plasma dials,black door cards,rear door card blanks (soon to house some new speakers) and a pioneer headunit-courtesy of my bro.
As i type my 17" o.z's are at the powdercoaters getting a refurb in gunmetal and the cam cover in gloss black-£60 all in
Also put my jetex rear box on as the existing one had rotted through on the joints(from that i'm guessing it was powerflow).
So,little over a week into ownership and i'd been out to the shop for a couple of cold ones in the s2 ofcouse.Cruising home at a steady pace and all of a sudden the car cuts out and i hear a huge hissing.car woudn't start,so i managed to get a tow home from my stepdad.The next day my brother and i looked over it,everything looked ok,so i took off the bumper and intercooler to find the crank pulley loose-very loose
got the bottom pulley off the crank sprocket and found the keyway had turned to dust,i'm assuming this was due to the fact the crank bolt wasn't tight.
I was well *****off to say the least.
So i pulled the head and found 10 of these:
apologies for the lack of pics but my concern at the time was not where the camera was
So now ,2 weeks down the line the head has been rebuilt,refitted,new belts etc,etc,all i need is the cam cover to run it up,fingers crossed it will be ok.
Will post some pics of the freshly blinged engine bay when it's done.
And for anyone wondering-i still have the other s2 and the project is still coming together-although it's taking a slightly different shape to what i had originally planned as joint project between myself and my bro:mischeif:
