I had a damaged cable which affected wash-wipe and alarm.. ... open the boot and look at the cable that goes through from bodywork into boot frame...

I'd say the rear lights not working are a coincidence
          SOLD !

id say fuses because your wiper was frozen to the glass causing the fuse to pop..

agree with that, over a time i think they stretch. i put longer wires in and it worked straight away, the ones on the nearside

agree with the above the wiring's probably worn out, open the boot lid and look behind the rubber cover on the passenger side of the car, probably find a few wires needing sorting. Are all the dash lights working?

nah up by the hinge is a rubber section that covers the wiring.

can you hear your rear wiper washer motor going, its behind the panel on the drivers side, common problem for them to fail.
