Ive got PDF on my work PC detailing what parts need to be changed between the mk2 engine and the 80 engine in order for it to just drop in. I'll try and find it tomorrow.

Had some spare time today so decided to give the old girl a bit of a clean.

Just got some temporary insurance on it and booked it in with Jase at the Lion garage for it's MOT.

Done this a couple of times with 6a 2.0 corrado's. stock bottom end with kr cam (from the 1.8 16v) decent exhaust and set up properly and youre easily looking at 170bhp. The one i had i my in my mk1 was putting out 176bhp but that was with a mild head home brew head port

Basically the 2.0 engine block from the audi coupe/80 (6a or ACE) is almost identical to the KR engine from the Golf. Except for the bulges on the side for clearance for the longer stroke crank (hence nickname 'bubble block') the bore is also increased in size. The cams in the audi's are very tame (perhaps to reduce emissions or save the cats)
For this reason the standard 2.0 16v produces very similar power to the 1.8 16v (both just under 140bhp). Using the Cams from the 1.8 KR engine will up the power to about 160bhp (combined with a decent exhaust system) and if you use a 50mm diameter Inlet manifold (from the later mk2 16v) you will sacrifice a small amount of low end grunt but will see 170bhp. Bear in mind that when the engines are changed the K-Jet Metering head fueling will have to be adjusted and the WUR 'warm up regulator' should also be modified so that the engine does not run too lean at the top end and pink under loading. Stealth racing are the chaps that can help out with this!

Follow this link for the conversion PDF, not sure if you need to sign in, i dont think so.

The engine from the corrado, is that not a 9a engine code? Same block again i think... So to add to the other post you can use a 6a engine (audi 80) ACE engine (later audi coupe) 9a engine?? (corrado, less to change as already transverse)
You can also use the ABF engine from the mk3 but this engine block is 15mm taller and so requires exhaust spacers or special manifold, can also rub on the bonnet sometimes.

                      Not bad for £200

I've put a 6a in mine too, you need to swap all the engine mount and ancillery brackets over from the KR, swivel the oil filter housing and fit your K-Jet bits to it and you're good to go!

There's a bit about it about half way through my build here

Love these, got his mill in my caddy, bored to 1900 and ported. It a flying machine and revs for ever! Love the Mk2 shape too, looks like some cheap fun for the summer.
