    I'm a glutton for punishment

Picked up a second Coupe Quattro, Stateside we only got them in the 7A engine variety, and only 1700 were imported from 1990-1991, so they are somewhat rare here... Picked this up at the Auto Auctions, it is in a non running state, apparently due to a disintegrated timing belt. Luckily I have a spare 7A that came out of my S2'd Coupe...

My two coupes at our local shop...

    Front

    Rear

    side

Drivers side, notice dent behind door...

Wheels, look like it has new rotors all around:

    Engine...

    Goods:
    new plug wires
    new ps pump and hoses
    appears to be scorpion exhaust
no rust under the car (since it is from California)
Jamex front and rear strut bars
    glass sunroof
    black leather interior
    relayed headlights
lowered on Bilstiens and H&R springs
lower rubber trims all nice and new
    it's a coupe

    Not so good:
    engine
Neuspeed sticker mod on the seats...
    drivers window always down mod
    dent in the drivers side
Hood looks repainted and a very poor job was done.

I'm pretty happy with it, this should give me a good daily driver car that I can put miles on and not worry about, and let the RS2'd coupe be a garage queen... I am going to be looking for some euro bumpers and euro headlights, the US Department of transportation decided that these cars were too beautiful for America and made them change the bumpers and make the cars look terrible so Americans would buy American cars instead, or something to that effect.

Looks like a nice find. That upper strut tie bar looks dangerously close to the battery terminals.

Has to do with the DOT rule that all cars had to be able to withstand something like a 5mph impact without any damage so most Euro Models from BMW, Merc and Audi had to get these awfully designed things fitted as stock. Always reminds me of a bad boob job

I had to do a double take on the picture of the drivers side as I thought I spotted a mk1 tranny in the background

How easy is it to change to the B4 bonnet? The B3's just don't look as good (IMHO )

              Cheers n

P.S. I am over in Boston in 2 weeks time. Anyone know any good Audi-based places to visit?

Yeah, i'm not sure what genius put the battery in, but it isn't the correct battery for the car, as all of you probably know the battery posts are on the top of the battery... I will have that sorted quickly... It looks worse in the pictures due to the angle of the photo, but it will still be changed before I start driving the car.

I have parted out a few audis and have a garage full of spares to throw at this car including a complete running 7A engine. As soon as I get some free time I'll get it going.

In regards to the hood, I'll be watching the local scrappers for a b4 hood in Red... It is a straight swap, with just the hood, however many people like to get the b4 style cross members, makes it a bit simpler with regard to the hood catch lever.

Some b3 euro one piece headlights/bumper would sort the front on it out nicely. Those headlights look like the ones that were fitted to 4 pot cars.
