Looks like it needs a bit of TLC on the bodywork, the drivers side boulster is a real common one - but looking like a good car!

      I'll enjoy watching this thread

looks like an ariel thats been bodged onto the roof at some point, and the rust around the screen looks "nice" that looks like a cut out the bad and weld in a new section!

good luck though with the restoration..

who in gods name put´s an aerial on the front part of the roof on an S2? Don´t meen to punch holes through your new found joy as it look´s nice apart from the rough patches mate. Never seen an S2 wit that kind of rust though, especially around the rear side window, that most have had a glass out respray at one time and had some bad prepwork.

As for the rear quarter I think whoever said it had been painted before was quite right!! It will be done properly this time though. I have sourced a new front bumper thats fairly local. Should be picking that up today
Where abouts are you based mate?

Just been through all the receipts that came with the car.... I'm amazed how much has been spent on this car!!

Full gearbox rebuild, new clutch and flywheel 08-07 (20k ago) at cost of nearly £1000. It has had the cambelt changed 3 times the most recent time was 40k ago when it had a new head gasket and head bolts. Within the last year (2k miles) its had 4 new discs and pads, brake boost accumulator, 2 lower ball joints and CV boots, rear exhaust silencer and 4 new tyres.

Oh and I found an invoice for removing the old alarm and immobiliser system for £70!! All they did was cut the wires to the alarm box

Looking better already mate since I saw it, get the bumper on and that will help, with the engine bay, use some brasso (the s2driveruk mod/cheat) as it brings up the abs pipes etc like new.

Keep us updated mate, be a good one.

One thing to have a think about is what route you want to take, i.e. more power or a nice tidy car with all the options/toys and see what you want and set some goals.
