        Dunno, I wasn't there at the time - my brother took it as I was away for the weekend.

          ...oh, and on the way back to drop the car off, my brother had a little play with a cossy on the M62 - at around 140mph the cossy expired in a cloud of smoke

            270lbft? Around 365Nm? That's a bit low IMO.

              Actually yeah - its a little lower than it should be - maybe a small air leak. I note the torque graph is pretty flat from 2.5k upwards - it should be steeper to reflect the 1.4bar in the low-mid range and then reducing as boost falls to 0.9bar at the redline. The shape of the torque line looks like slight loss of boost - or maybe fuel related of course. What fuel was in the tank - Optimax or Not ?

                Had a chat to my brother yesterday and it seems this run was done on Optimax. However, he's not supprised that the the torque is down as he recons the dyno was fairly optimisic anyway in terms of BHP. There were plenty of standard cars there which were achieving way above standard figures (around 20 to 30 BHP more).

                So back to square one! Boost gauge is installed and shows the car does boost upto 1.4BAR max and then drops off as the revs rise. Any other ideas?

                      Boost pressures are as follows...

                      Tested in 3rd gear...

                      @3500rpm - 21psi
                      @4000rpm - 20psi
                      @5000rpm - 18psi
                      @6000rpm - 15psi
                      @7000rpm - 13psi

                      It took 10 seconds to go from 3500rpm to 7000rpm

                      I guess that looks about right then?

                        Seems to look ok AFAIK. Not sure if it should keep the 21psi all the way to 5000 rpm but I guess it depends what the load was like on the engine. The best way is to find a long hill if you can.

                        Seems OK though - I guess Paul N will be able to tell you more.

                        Mine had problems and was dropping much faster than yours.

                          Yeah, before i changed my gauge mine kept about 21 psi till about 4500 rpm then started to drop off. As Leigh says, Paul N's your man for this.

                          Cheers,
