Specific: would 235-40-18 hit the arches or not on a bit lowered rs2?

Not sure about 235- 40, but I beleive GT500 is running lowered RS2 with 245-35-18 with 3mm spacer up front with mtm cup 1's.

To be honest i think the reason an s2 rs2 is so ok with big wheels is becasue they have so much weight on top of them and the ride to me at this time feels good.( to be honest i think the old tyres had a lot of flex on them.)
I know that at some time soon il hit a pot hole and think what the *~&%£" but hopefully the wheels are of a good make and will be ok. I mean my old bbs wheels took some hits and any other make of wheel would have bent like a chocolate wheel.

So so far so good so thanks for all the nice comments.
Suprised not to read your bumpers hanging of at the front like you hear so often on here nowdays..

            i use 245x35 and i use 5mm spacer rear and 3mm front.
it doesnt have to do with lowering, its hitting the suspension arms if no spacers are used

what ET are the wheels though?

the smaller the number tje more outwards is the wheel!

ET52 that are the veloce ones, need the spacers. If i had ET50, i may have not needed the spacers, and may have been too close to the fenders
