My new Dag Dag......but help with idle???

Finally back in the land of the semi economical!!! Means my MK3 Gti has gotta go but u cant beat 2 red 80's out front! Just a quick one and a slow one! lol

Shes pretty sound for the year and mileage, only real gripe i have is that she hunts like a biatch at idle and low revs, i know this is common for these bu there seems to be a million options for tackling it, from ecu change to fuel bleed to new pump, to TB clean out etc etc

    Any ideas much welcomed!

Here she is.............notice somebody must have specced lights and fogs in bumper?

    All the best

Looks like they also ordered shiny red paint (instead of the pink mine is) and sports seats?

Looks good, shoved some veg oil in mine the other day, been running fine, about 90% veg oil.

        20 litres from Makro £20
20 litres Costco £20:35 (or there abouts)
My mate just picked up 3 litres for £2.94 from Lidl but someone mentioned they have it in Aldi even cheaper.

Prices seem to change quite often as it was £19 for 20l in costco a few weeks ago.

          Als2,

Nice one, handy having the same colour, looking forward to your future updates / experiences and comparisons of the two cars.

Do you think you'll find it hard not to be tempted to start "sooty'ising" it ?

          Kind regards.

Do a search on here and audifans, iirc there is a wire you have to cut which will sort out the hunting at idle, yours is the later setup to what my old tdi was, think it was a white/blue wire under the bonnet you have to cut. Few forum members have done it, fitzy and I think jas11n being some.

cheers acid, noticed a few guys having done this, so think i might have a pop at that, just about to have a look at something else, any ideas on how to alter the idle on these? seems mighty low at 400

as for sootyfying her, well that already on the cards!!! lol well maybe not an S2 replica, but shel get a few choice tweaks!!!!

so anybody got an Avant rear bumper!!!

I haven't cut any wires on my 80, has always idled perfectly with no hunting at low revs .

My 80 has been on loan to a mate down country for nearly a year now. Will be back with with in a month or so.
Give me a nudge next weekend Al, might be worth your while
