Another American, another s2 replica

Hey guys, I've been lurking these boards for a while now and I finally got myself a cq! It's already got alot of the legwork (and $$$) in it that I would've done myself, but it needed some tinkering to get back up to its former glory.




I got it with the following mods
3B Swap
Rs2 trans
Spec stage 5 clutch
s2 bumpers
s2 lights
rs2 grill
s4 steering wheel
b5 s4 seats retrofitted
carbon fiber trim (well at least 3/4 of it)
Porsche big blacks
s2 5x112 coversion
H&R springs
Autronic smc standalone running on distributor
k26/27 hybrid
rs2 manifold


The car had a sunroof leak (big surprise there!) and had half a foot of water in the passenger footwell. Turns out the last owner decided mounting the standlone in a proper place and it got waterlogged. I tried drying it out and starting it and it died in a nice smokey fashion.

Along with v3 harness, the original harness was trash with the autronic smc



and the proposed location for ls2 coils



Dash had to come out due to poor audio wiring in the car and ease of routing wires for the vems



And the birds nest of wiring I took out!!! Being a car audio installer I wasn't too impressed with the work.



JHM shifter installed from 034, no pushdown reverse though on the 6 speed.

Possibly, I am a dealer for morel and genesis as well and one of the few dealers for brax and helix. I might have something up my sleeve audio wise once the engine is done

Every US Coupe Quattro I have seen has memory seats. Not sure they work with diferent seats though.

CKYMike, can you measure the headroom with the B5 seats? What does the mounting look like?

I'll check the height. The previous owner did custom brackets. Since I am a status dealer at my shop I may switch to those and use other brackets so if you're interested in doing the swap let me know. Ill sell it to you

Sure, let me know. I have some Porsche buckets that will gain ~4" of headroom but need to make brackets (busy installing VEMS and gathering turbo parts). B5S4 seats would be cool if the brackets are the same and I can gain some helmet room!

Cool. The US CQs all have power seats and the frame is what takes up all the room. My plan is to make an adapter for the front 2 bolts and run a tube between the stock sliders using the stock slider feet. This will allow whatever seat rails to be bolted down. If newer Audi rails are similar width to the CQ front bolts that would be ideal.

I have <1" of clearance to the headliner in my CQ with the stock seats, leaves little room for a helmet.
