I've eventually found an S2 replacement!

Having sold my fully restored + pristine S2 a couple of years ago, I've been struggling to find a car suitable of its replacement. Tried a 3.0 Tdi B7 first, then a VX220, followed by an beautifully prepped C5 S6 but none have matched the S2 for giving me that 'special' feeling. However, I have now done a deal on a B5 RS4 in noggy blue and I think my mission is complete. Still would love that S2 back though, maybe one day It will return! So the moral of my story is..... NEVER SELL YOUR S2!!!

That's a lovely looking RS4, does it have any mods yet? I'm sure you won't be disappointed though they are great cars, although the B4 models have a great shape to them.

        I've been driving around in a 4.2L V8 1.8 tonne S6 so fuel bills don't scare me

Very nice, always wanted one myself but i find it curious exS2 owners seem to imply there is something missing that the S2 had. What is it, are they just too refined and capable to be as involving or?

Very nice RS4, it seems quite a few forum members have gone on to RS4's!

To a novice like me, it seems a totally natural progression. What a nice car, enjoy

Fuel bills? RS4 gets same gas mileage as S2.
Also, an RS4 owner as a fact does not care about fuel bills because the maintenance costs so much that fuel bills are completely irrelevant.

Also I think that comparing gas mileage on performance cars is like comparing who's wiener is shorter - but that's just my opinion.
If you have a 400+ hp car and the other persons first question is how much fuel it takes, then usually you can be sure that person does not know jack about quick cars

                      Can't argue with that....

I never worried what my RS6 cost to run; until the dealers bills arrived....

I'm also worried with my car's fuel economy when WOT is " activated"

I hate these cars...too much money invested to go 120 km/h

Its funny, a UR RS4 seems to be the only thing that fills the void. I have to agree though, nothing seems quite as special. Every trip out in my coupe feels like a special occasion, I think its something to do with the feeling that you have something that you have built yourself. Anyone with enough can go out and splash the cash on a new TTRS etc. You need to put some work in to run a 20+ year old quattro, and the reward is having something very rare and unique.
