Well before the FMIC there was about 3/4 inch of room. I had to use spacers to move the stock B4 crossmember forward to get that. When I did the FMIC upgrade I moved it back about 1/2 inch. Also notched and did some welding on the x-member. There's about 1/2 inch to the main damper pulley now. I've gone over some serious bumps, and done hard cornering and braking to make sure it clears at all times. So far so good. Everything seems to clear just fine. -
Black to match the CF hood. I wanted to do it Silver but can't bear to paint the CF and I don't want to drive around a silver car w/black hood either.Originally posted by MartynfNice, real nice, bet you cannot wait to stick a lick of paint on it? what color will she be?Comment

Audi panzer grey would fit perfectly with that hood. I´ve got to get one of those hoods! Any sellers in europe?Comment

It's highly customised Deitrich RS4 for the 80/90 B4. First thing I did was glass over the side vents. Openings have been cut much larger to fit the FMIC.Originally posted by groofospWheres the bumper from dude, looks good fit and finish. Is it glassfibre, plastic?Comment

Well yes and no. It has a front snub mount but it's a modified V6 one. I had to weld my own custom new reciever on the front x-member. It allows much less movement than the stock one.Originally posted by porkkisYou're using the low mount AAN front engine mount?Comment

Sorry but I'm not even sure. I never weighed it but it is light. ;-)Originally posted by Greg_SLooks excellent, the carbon bonnet does look really nice. How much is the weight difference compared to the stock bonnet?
Engine looks very well packaged too

That's a fantastic job, I'm sure that is the same intercooler that is fitted to at least 3 members of the forum's cars. Martin, Tom and Doug. Think possibly Jeffer has one as well.
I thought the colour was the final colour. Fiat have a pearlescent primer coloured paint ( which I don't like). It'd look great any colour apart from Gold. Or pink......

Hey hey hey hold up... WHAT? Cool A FMCC... Cool.
- Will this setup work with a stock S2 bumper and hood, given that you use a stock thickness IC (a smaller IC)? Seems you cut it juuust a little...
- What are the main drawbacks?
- Cooling fans - which do you use? Guess if you used a wee bit smaller fans the FMIC would tuck even further in. Could you fit a fan on the backside of the cooler instead??
- Any cooling issues?
- What crossmember did you use?Last edited by Henka; 8 June 2005, 18:08.Comment
