Winter wheels rock! Here's my B6 S4 on spot-the-difference B5 S4 Avus 17s and Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes. Took the scenic route home from work Friday (2 hours) and then we got a load more snow all through Sunday so I went out Sunday night too for about 2.5 hours down the same roads - all country lanes, half of which was single track. 1/4 mile further on from the abandoned Navara pictured in the ditch I came across a 306 with the occupants still in it that had slipped off the road. Their engine had cut out where it has listed over to one side. Their rear hasn't slipped sideways and was still pointing up to the road so I managed to pull them out. Absolutely NO WAY I would have got them out if I was on 18" summers!

These people buy these 4x4 pick-ups and don't know how to drive them, they'd be better of in a normal car, they're usually rwd unless you change them over and with no weight in the back they can be a bit of a handfull not to mention pretty hopeless........shame they weren't still there to see you driving past in a quattro

Good Samaritan deed for the year already done I see Ian!
These conditions have really highlighted exactly how important having the right tyres on a car is, its my first year with them and based on how its gone so far, my wife wants winters on her Fiat 500... now that's progress!
I've lost count of the amount of abandoned Mercs and pushed BMW's i've seen on the roads
