  • Audi S2 Limousine

    Hi folks!

    Here´s my S2 Sedan. It´s a quite special with all the weird optional equipment combinations and history. Car has been bought from germany as new by finnish UN-soldier, but it was stolen on the way as he was taking it to the service country. It was caught after a while at customs and the thief´s had changed 3 last numbers of the vin but that did not help. Car was confiscated in customs for about 10 years as it was sold few times and there was argue who really owns it, the outcome was that finnish insurance company who did pay it to UN-soldier was real owner and it was imported to Finland 16 300km on the clock in 2004.

    Now it has 138 000 on the clock and it has survived completely original except rear speakers. It was bought by local schools principal and used as daily runner until 2012 when I bought it. Did all the maintenance immediately, as it now has 138 000 on the clock and there was no maintenance history (lost by the thiefs as they had the original vin).

    Weird is that someone has really wanted it without standard sportseats and really payed extra to get those beige regular leathers. I use it every day now, but I have to admit its a bit hard to keep clean inside as everything is light beige

    Very intersting story. Did the thieves find and remove the build tag in the boot (under the carpet, by or in the spare tyre well)?

    I haven't looked at all your codes but I have found these two to be a common error on many of the build tags that I have decoded.

    C5T = Alloy wheels 9J x 19
    H4N = Tires 215/40 ZR17

    C5T is the 7.5J x 16 Avus (shows in the P code listings)

    H4N should have been H3F = Tyres, 225/50 ZR 16

      Yes, something is done to it so that it is unreadeable, wiped with break cleaner or something. That´s long story short, a thick pile of court documents followed with the car that explained the situation. Is there another vin somewhere hidden in s2? Urquattros have one under the windshield.

        There *might* be a build sheet up above the glove box, behind the dash. *MAYBE*

                      The front bumper was changed to new original few years ago as the previous owner hit a rabbit. There was only s2 original bumper available without washers that time so he decided to go without.

                        Heard the same opinion from old audi owners. This fact always frustraits everybody who is into sportseats (including me).

                        ... an enteresting car story indeed.

                          The seats are comfortable, but I just don´t like to looks of them on s2

                          First I was sure to convert this to rs2 sedan, but now I have gave up on that as its too rare to modify and decided to keep it 100% original and finalize it to perfection.

                            Yes, early ABY, non ellipsoid lights and orange turns, but they would have 7" Ronal instead of the speedlines.
