  • 2.6 v6 avant

Picked this up two weeks ago for £350 due to a ecu fault. Slapped an mot on it with no issues. Second hand ecu and all is good.

I've just fitted a v6 coupe front bumper and have a sport steering wheel and set of vdo gauges to go on it, still in two minds whether to change the wheels or not for something bigger?

It's very straight and clean and even the light grey interior is spotless, quite a feat with such a light coloured interior. Needs a bloody good polish though.

Gotta admit the 2.6v6 is woeful in performance but being that its a fwd and not a Quattro I can't see much point in chasing power..... Unless its possible to convert to quattro drivetrain?

You will have the pickup points for the rear subframe/uprights on your car under the underseal, you will need to weld in two flanged nuts and a couple of brackets plus change the fuel tank for a quattro tank and grind off a few of the small mounts for the heat shields etc. I had all the quattro stuff bolted up to my project which started out fwd.

I still have the correct bracket for the rear diff from my ex project at home thats no longer required.

Nice car, the V6 is very smooth but no ball of fire.

Ive broken a 2.6 quattro saloon so if you do go down the quattro route then ive got all the parts you will need
Also got a set of 17 that will look good on it pm me if interested

Yes it's not quick, been trying to find info on any possibility of a a supercharge conversion or the like but info is limited. I've mainly had BMW 6 pots in the last 15 years so I do like the sound of a 6 banger but I still think the best sounding car I've owned was a 2.2 20v coupe many years ago. An inline 5 at full chat sounds glorious.
