    My *official* 1994 UrS4 V8 Avant introduction

I know this isn't 20V turbo but it is an UrS4. It has the 4.2L 280 PS ABH motor with the CMG 6 spd (oil pump/cooler/0.68 6th). It has cloth quattro script seats (which need some cleaning (no photos yet)) - as shown in the Brave Auto video that many of you have seen on Youtube. Manual front recaros, no seat heaters. No remote lock but the key opens/locks the all doors and hatch from the front doors and the hatch lock. No third seat (but there is a storage compartment under the load deck). Buried down there, under a trunk panel we never got, is a brand new VIRGIN Avus, complete with nubbies on the tread of the Super Contact 225/50/16 tire.

One of the 18" ET32 A!AvantGarde wheels shown in the Brave Auto youtube video has a pot-hole ouch on the outer lip - wouldn't hold air so the seller got the 18" wheels shown. Very new/perfect (but I am not in love with them).

This is a replacement for my 98 C4 A6 quattro V6 auto avant. It is probably not as nice as an S6plus and it would be better with twin turbos and VEMS or the RS6 drive train. However, considering just the other day when I was driving the A6 avant out to get a replacement rear bumper for it (because I was committing to keep it), I said to myself, this car would be so much better with a V8, this is an excellent replacement/upgrade. After driving it around a bit this afternoon, I said to myself, "Hmm...Wow, this might be the route to just one car" (instead of three C4s as we speak).

Issues that need to be addressed soon: fix the AvantGarde wheel, fix the headliner, replace the front passenger bottom door trim. It also needs a thorough but gentle clean inside.

Sorry I can't get you a sound bite. For a stock exhaust (I am told), it is very intoxicating. (BTW: what does 17.4L/100 km mean?) ;>) (I know = $$$)

The paint is volcano black metallic not brilliant black as shows in the photos.

    Very nice, Dave.

That fuel economy though... wouldn't like to drive that thing every day.

      Health to enjoy it Dave.
Lovely car, but horrendous fuel economy!?!

Those wheels give it a little narcotics related feel too!

It means the car does 5.75 km per 1 liter of fuel or 21.76 miles per gallon. Which is erm $$$ indeed.

          Here's my formal 'Congratulations' so.

Lovely car. If is 20mpg, it's a lot more than I get with an S2 around town, plus you have no lag and a good sound track.

You know anyway, the rims need to be off loaded. Don't worry about wither it has heated seats, needs turbos etc. Get it perfect and enjoy it as it is, the car is not in any way lacking.

oem+ spec should keep you occupied.

Everyone who has a C4 V8 wil be as pleased as punch as a load of very helpful reference info and photos will now start to flow from you.

          Well wear.

            c4 v8

            absolutely,, i get around 12/100 litres per 100 k, no thistier than my 200 q 3b,
lovely throttle response and very torquey, it does have a nice rip off the standard exhaust, but will be going to a custom build in the new year,
            welcome to s4 v8 ownership,,

It doesn't? That can't be right unless you are driving on the track every day all day.

I think your math is off on the conversion to mpg. 17.4L is 3.83 Imperial gallons (at 4.54 L/Imp gal) so if 100 km is 62.1 miles, it works out to 16.2 mpg.

That said, I am not concerned. I was booting it around pretty good yesterday and my 98 C4 A6q V6 auto driven like a pensioner ( ) only gets 18 mpg around town. And *it* is BORRRRRIINNGG.

I know where I've gone wrong, it's the conversion from km. to mi.

Nice Dave. It is nice being the "only one" in a market full of cookie cutter cars. Enjoy it. BTW, Roger M, is your guy for those hard to find LHD Euro parts in the UK. Email me if you need to reach him.
