    Laser red ABY S2 Avant

New to the forum so thought i would post some pics and say hi

Recently picked up this car which i'm sure some people on here will be familiar with........

Few pics i got after picking it up

So far done a few things......

    - full set of snow tyres (being in the NE of Scotland i'll be needing to get my snowboard fix in up the hills)
    - Nardi 350mm wooden steering wheel with audi horn button (spaced a bit closer than the standard wheel, needed this as kept twatting my knees being tall with lack of adjustable column)
    - Sony CD player with USB & Aux in (backlights are red to match the OEM interior lighting)
    - New set of Bosch F5DPOR plugs (car had some ****** 'Champion EON 1' plugs fitted)

I still need to get a new set of wheel bolts as when the car was in for the tyres, my mate showed me how the car is running a mismatch of long and short bolts bizarrely

    Now the unfortunate part........

Had the car for all of a week and someone ran out in front of the car in front, they slowed down quicker than me..... No damage to the car in front but for me it resulted in a cracked bumper / burst fog light / clips broken on the OS headlight.

Sooooooo i've got a genuine bumper in for paint / 2 brand new depo foglights / currently sourcing some ellipsoid headlights (can't wait as the standard lights are beyond useless). so should be looking better than ever shortly

Car is being used as my 'daily' as i also own an E46 M3 i've built from standard into a bit of a track toy

Congratulations on your shiny new purchase. The pictures looks like the East Kilbride Olympia car park, going by your user name I take it you hail from the land of many roundabouts?

No difference then. It looks very similar to the one in East Kilbride.

            cheers!

Not a huge amount of plans to be fair, few little things:

            - full set of oem mats
            - remote central locking
            - full 3" turbo back exhaust and the map tweaked to suit

Mostly just keep it clean and serviced!

Don't get a 3inch turbo back system if you have neighbours like mine - But I do sometimes see their point when it starts up at 04:15am and rumbles the whole area like an earthquake
              Life is a rollercoaster

Nice, but consider a different steering wheel in black, and non Bosch spark plugs, maybe NGK. See other threads on here re spark plugs.

Truth is stranger than fiction re the pesky pedestrian. :roll eyes:

                Enjoy.

the steering wheel is MUCH better to drive with than the standard 3 spoke leather job and the car runs very well on the bosch plugs

haha my Neighbours are OK, can't be worse than the Maseratti gran turismo round the corner on straight pipes

You have a well cared for car there. Good luck finding some mats for it, rarer than hens teeth in anything other than "used" condition.

Hope you enjoy it and that no more idiots run out in front of you. Standard lights are useless, I get round that by not using mine in the dark but if you have it as a daily, that is not poss so elips are a sound idea.

Thinking that steering wheel is very marmite.

Yeah it is a bit marmite, when you see it in the flesh it suits the car very well and as you say i love it which is what counts!

Don't want to drag this out, but I accept that you needed a different steering wheel due to a size issue, but it was the look of it I was whinging about, , but I see in subsequent posts that you like it, and as mentioned each to their own.

                            Best wishes with the Bosch.

The ellipsoids will further enhance the appearance of an already good car, and will facilitate the fitment of HIDs, which will transform the performance of the headlights to the good. Both items re very much well worth the effort.

                              Welcome Steven
You have a great example of the S2 there. Hope you'll be coming down for the Crieff meet next year.

If you're looking for a custom 3" exhaust I can highly recommend Stainless Creations in Falkirk. They did a great job on my old car.
