Breaking A6 - which bits to keep for the S6?

The time has finally come to break my 1995 A6 Avant (2.6 V6) and get the S6 back on the road. The A6 is an SE model and most of the bits still work, so I wanted to compile a list of all the parts which I should strip off as spares before it gets picked up and scrapped. So far I've got:

    Climate control unit
    Flap control servo motors
    Dash air vents
    All steering column stalks etc.
    All switches
    Central locking pump
    ABS ECU
All headlights, tail lights and indicators
    Fuse box and all fuses
    Wing mirrors
    Wiper arms
    Battery

    Is it worth keeping:
    Electric window mechanisms?
Any other bits from the aircon system?
    Whole heater box?
    Anything from the engine/ignition?

Would be grateful for any advice!

    Cheers,
    Tom

Rear bumper as spare. I think the rad/condensor/fan config is very similar on v6 so may be worth keeping that if engine doesn't need to be running any more. After run pump if the v6 has one? Any common sensors like inlet air temp etc. Relays.

Tom: Got your PM. Here are my comments on your list

          Climate control unit - yes
Flap control servo motors - yes
Dash air vents - sure but they don't really fail
All steering column stalks etc. - yes
          All switches - yes
Central locking pump - probably - might be a difference between infra-red and radio frequency remotes
ABS ECU - maybe - depends what year the S6 is. Starting in the 1996 model year, the ABS unit became part of the electronic diff "lock" (EDL) system so a 95 MY unit won't work in 96 UrS6 or 97 UrS6 (or 98 A6 avant) - but keep it regardless, if it isn't a spare for you it can be a replacement for somebody else
All headlights, tail lights and indicators - yup keepers
Fuse box and all fuses - sure AND relays and control modules
          Wing mirrors - sure
          Wiper arms - sure
Battery - Nah, batteries die and need replacement

          Is it worth keeping:
Electric window mechanisms? Remove and keep the entire window cassette as a unit, i.e. the frame, glass and motors come out of the doors as complete units.
Any other bits from the aircon system? - compressor maybe? dryer is different I think.
Whole heater box? - yes for sure
Anything from the engine/ignition? - the brown 351 power output stage (POS) can be a temporary spare for your black AAN 351A POSs when a channel dies.

          In addition to the above

          - Interior Door handles and trim - maybe the whole door cards if you have the space
          - headlights if the A6 is equipped with the triple light version like the UrS6 (my 98 C4 Avant was - I just sold it yesterday (sniff) - I have a 94 S4 V8 6spd avant now)
          - rear bumper as mentioned
          - sunroof cassette (frame, glass and motor)
          - speakers
          - rear hatch wiper system
          - hatch handle
          - outer taillights - might come in handy

          Hope that helps

What colour is the interior? I'm looking for the three interior panels for the rear hatch if you have them in black and undamaged with all the clips intact.

            Cheers

Three? Not four? All of the C4 hatch trims were black with either grey (platinum) or beige (ecru) carpet.

This rear hatch removal and repair post (with hyperlinks) might help you:

Yes, four pieces. For some reason I was only thinking of the main back panel and the two side pieces and forgot about the top.

Anyway it's black with black (anthracite?) carpet that I'm looking for.

                  Cheers
