Hi guys, my S6 battery needs changing. The battery that came with the car was a Bosch 70 Ah and Am not sure if it's the correct Ah one for the car. Does anyone know what The car should have ie what the original speck battery was in Amp/hours? Am thinking Varta is the way to go for highest quality?
Cheers

Varta Dynamic or Bosch Silver, both the same battery, I bought my car two years ago and the battery was still good and would even start after being left for 3 weeks without starting. Changed it for peace of mind for a Bosch Silver battery, great batteries

70 Amp hours? Did you mean 700?
Some C4 battery info/hints below. Pay careful attention to height and venting.
700Ah I wish!! I think you're confusing your Ah with CCA's.
Anyway, get a Bosch Silver S5. Costco or Halfords with a trade card offer the best price.
Thanks ....what I thought but as you know me I can't stand halfords
I have been around too long. I am pretty much a Varta man as got to be brill as the emergency services use them.RNLI,police etc. As Ryan put it Bosch are Very good too. I have looked on eBay a bit earlier and they are coming up as 90Ah. What I need to know guys is 90Ah the correct size for an URS6??? Cheers

Probably a bit big. Case size I think should be a 41 but you need one with an external vent. Here is one that a battery selector program chose for my 93 UrS4 (UrS6 would be the same): http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/a...chTerm=battery
The one below also looks right, except for the lack of the vent spigot on the (+) terminal side (but it does have a nice (+) post cover):
Here are some BCI 41 dimensions:
Battery BCI # : BCI #41
Battery Cold Cranking Amps @ 0 Degrees F : 650
Battery Cranking Amps @ 32 Degrees F : 800
Battery Posts Type : Top Post
Battery Reserve Capacity (Minutes) : 100
Battery Voltage : 12 Volt
Height : 6 15/16"
Length : 11 9/16"
Wet or Dry : Wet
Width : 6 15/16"
Battery Weight : 37 lbs

Oops. Yup. Where I grew up (Saskatchewan, Canada, with -40C winters, it was numbers like 600, 650, 700, etc that were important. Yup Cold Cranking Amps (at 0 C).

What were you thinking? A senior moment maybe. It was a typo....that's it then.
Thanks for your help Dave. If I stick to the correct size so as not to interfere with the rear bench a 90ah should be fine I would have thought.

Not a senior moment per se. In 47 years of driving and car ownership, I have never bought a battery based on Amp-hours. Only Cold Cranking Amps, because that is what is important in Canadian winters.
The 90 ah battery might be fine. Just make sure of the height, venting and (+) terminal cover issues outlined in my battery post.
Don't want any of this to happen:
