One year on.........

Well I've had my S2 Avant for 1 year now and here is a quick story so far (with costs).......

26/09/02 - Bought Car 48880 Miles
27/09/02 - Loads of smoke never properly diagnosed but went away: £145
22/11/02 - Service @ 49978 miles: £121

6 blissfull trouble free months : £0.00

29/5/03 - Hispec Brake conversion (first for S2) @ 53950 miles : £862.68
07/06/03 - Oil & filter @ 54175 miles : £32.02

Then the dreaded smoke came back

07/07/03 - Decat (as it was decided the CATs were the cause of the smoke) - crap job : £150

This then caused or contributed in some way to the turbo seals going which meant......

July 2003 - Turbo rebuild by AET, gaskets, nut bolts, lambda, cam cover gasket etc @ 55,000 miles : £522

08/09/03 - Cats back on for MOT - passed

11/09/03 - 4 x Toyo Proxies (still not fitted) : £233.60.

Car now at 56,400 miles

Total costs £2066.30

Not too bad really seeing as I have had a new turbo, lambda, brakes & tyres

Current state of play - noisy OSF bearing or CV Joint and a really annoying flat spot started about 1.5 weeks ago still not diagnosed

Not a bad years ownership Leigh.... are you sure it's only done 55k??? I'm sure I saw that reg about 18 months ago with 125K on it...

With the turbo going and possibly a wheel bearing believe me I have wondered! Good job I have a fax from Audi UK confirming all services and mileages as in the book and every MOT and an HPI and........

I think you have done a great first year. The total costs of my S2 are unknown, even for myself...
But almost everything is new...
