    PRJ completes t4 remap

I'm sure I've bored you all to death with tales of my t4 but Dmitri rounded off the project yesterday with a custom remap.

For those of you yet to meet him I can honestly say he is a true gentlemen and an absolute master at all things code

    The spec of the van:
    2003 vw t4
    2.5 5 pot turbo 88 BHP standard

    Modifications:
Front mounted Mercedes sprinter inter cooler (£30)
Bosch injectors from the audi A6 AEL engine (£50)
Side exit exhaust with decat (home made)

I had to weld a Lambada boss on to the down pipe so the wideband could be hooked up for mapping. With this done it was off to meet Dimitri at "The Phirm".

The ECU was extracted and the emulator installed so changes could me made in real time No generic flashing here.

8 hours later, after multiple runs and rest as we managed to over heat the brakes the work was done and the results are fantastic
A calculated guess based on injection quantity puts it at around 170BHP

The van is much more derivable now. There is no smoke until you give it max trottle when there is a light haze. No smoke no power with diesels

If the below video dose not give a sense of speed I think the noise dose.

Not bad for an 11 year old, 2000KG, 235000 mile van thats still working for a living.

So its's a big thank you to Mr PRJ and the lads at The Phirm for the lone of various tools.

If you need mapping and he is in the country Dimitri is your man

Good engines the ajt and acv, with the exception of the troublesome cambelt tensioners. Ask me how i know.
170, thats going to eat front tyres. Syncro next maybe?

Honest, but at times aggressive with his replies. Good points IMO top class lad who knows his stuff. At this moment in time there is no one else as good for the money.

Ummm pretty impressive. I miss my acv t4 and that was in standard form until it went royally wrong. Hats off to you with sticking out for this power and congrats to Dmitri on doing it.

I would say it's the clutch is what is going to take a beating, that's usually the way when you have a TDI tuned, probably be ok if you don't carry a lot of weight and use the power at the same time though as it will have a better clutch than a car to cope with heavy loads.

            Cheers lads

The timing belt tensioner, btdt Gets check every month now.

PRJ's posting style; I have made comments on that in the past, all forgiven now have have met the man for real. He's a proper gentlemen trust me

With exception of a set of side bars this project is officially complete now, just enjoyment and maintenance from now on.

Need to turn my attention to the s2 again now, and the mk1 of course

Great working with him also.Sometimes you wish he will be the man that only writes software on your ecu(as many do) instead of sending 12 software variants until he gets to desired result. So he is the man mapping not just writing maps on ecu
That is Emil(Bartolomeus here) 4motion 1,9 tdi arl vw bora mapped by Dmitri,no hardware mods, smoking not bad.It was not launch start(not my clutch, not my driveshafts),it was running 1'st gear.
Excuse the mode i filmed, but enjoy "dsg" gearbox

              About your 2.5 tdi:
Where do you feel the most usable part of your revs now?I have a 2.5 tdi ANJ code vw transporter 109 hp,and i was thinking about some mods too.
              About tensioner:
I think i found the problem with them breaking the tensioner pointer.Little to further tensioned and pointer reaching end when vibrating and breaking. And torque more than 25 nm if i remember correctly.

To a casual reader it might look like prj is aggressive but my estimation of him is he doesn't suffer fools lightly.Metaphorically speaking why should anyone be told at noon midday that its dark outside when clearly its in the middle of the day and light. You meet people like that and feel you want to tell them but you just cannot be bothered. On a forum it's different. It's all documented. How frustrating is that when the man knows his onions. You often find that those who can come across like that are in real life some of the most genuine people you could meet. I would take genuine all the time.

Keep smiling bud and enjoy that T4 now that Dimitri has breathed on it. Looking forward to when he chips and maps my S6.
