    3B Home Fries

Like the idea of one of Paul's 3B HomeFries. Does the chip upgrade need to have the origional OEM chip in place as at some point I think my S2 has had some mods done to the ECU before, and i an uncertain what

3B generic chips, licensed by Mihnea, have had to go up in price (compared to what I used to do them at) to keep a fair set of prices across the UK with his official agents. There are tax implications and other legalise that Mihnea needs to keep in control of - its his business and I have to respect that !

Because of this I'm not in a position to resell his 3B or ADU generic chips at the moment.

Home fries from me are ABY only for the time being...

I hate advertising on public forums, but if anyone is looking for generic chips for 3B or ADU cars then i can help out. Just drop me a mail. Yes the price has gone up compared to the ABy homefry's but due to current trading costs etc this cannot be avoided. Still cheaper than other companies offerings and IMHO a far better product, keeping all the factory safety functions.

Regardless of who is currently supplying 3B chip upgrades and what the price is, I still need to understand if the OEM chip needs to be resident in the ECU, and if so is there anyway of checking that the origional chip is there.
If not would there be additional costs to achieve that all important 290bhp

The chips will be replaced. The old ones can get chucked!

If you are wanting to squeeze 290bhp, i suggest you get a custom remap. Mihnea can then try his hardest to get you as close as possible to 290bhp, safely.

The gereric chips will make about 275bhp on a 3B with 410Nm of torque.

Yep you'll at least need a big exhaust for 290bhp - and a deCAT is legally possible if the 3B is the right age.

275bhp on a 3B with 410Nm of torque. sounds fine, and if i dont have to worry about what chip is currently in the ECU even better.

Will the 250kPa Map Sensor be part of the 3B upgrade?

Last question on everyones lips, whats the new £ cost £ ??????

Will certainly help. I de-catted my Scorpion system a while back and the Scorpion chaps said it should yield about 10bhp gain straight off the bat. It certainly gave me more noise I know that!

The original hoses aren`t the best on the marked, so my question are.
Should i change these an do i have to change the dv aswell.
the boost will be about 1,3 to get the hp and nm you are talking about?
i have the map sensor what will the cost be then?

Boost will rise to 1.4 bar peak.

It is probably a good idea to change the hoses and the DV, as if a 3B is still using original hoses then they will be a bit tired.
