Woke up this morning feeling like *****, didnt think i was gunna do anything to the car but it was cold and dry so i wrapped up and braved it

Managed to get the subframe back up, changed / cleaned the gearbox output shaft seal and adjusted the handbrake, its easy when the prop shaft isnt in the way

finished at 2.30, came in for food and to warm up and it started raining so i didnt have to go back out

Its supposed to be raining tomo so if im feeling ok, i'll attach the CD changer to the car between the showers and strip the old suspension parts ready to put in the de-rusting solution.

Good job Shaun. Working on any car outside and unheated is no fun.

Any chance of a nice clear photo of the name/serial number plate on the transmission for the archives?

That looks great Shaun. What brand of subframe mounting bushes did you use?

Shaun, consider 'painting' used engine oil on the fuel lines to persevere them, not sure of the best way of getting it onto the sections of the fuel pipes covered by the rubber grommets, as I am not confident of being able to re-close them if I opened them up ?

How do the factory shut them ?

Also check Spink's advise to me on where the UrS6 metal petrol tank tends to rust and again 'paint' it with used engine oil, more viscose than new engine oil, or smear it in grease to prevent the rust happening at the "known to rust spot" on the tank.

Best wishes, enjoy the remainder of the week off and don't waste a minute. You'll be back at work soon enough.

Well i was in bed before 9

I didnt replace the subframe bushes, they looked in good shape. I'm not going mad on this car it will be my S2 that gets all its bushes replaced.

I've got a recent receipt showing the fuel lines have been replaced i will be coating them with something to stop them from corroding.

i have removed the fuel tank from the S4 i broke so i am going to check it, prep it and fit it to the S6 There is a lot of rust around the back end so ive got a few days work sorting that.

The good thing is ive got this week off, go back to work to do my Lorry test for a week then i have got the following week off and then i have got another 2 weeks holiday to use before April

I cant believe ive spent another day lying under the car, feeling the way i do.

Well the gearbox oil and filter has been changed (haven't run the car up yet tho) that was this mornings work along with fitting all new bolts to the exhaust system so if i need to remove it it will be a lot easier.

Urs4 i have got pictures for you will upload them later.

This afternoon ive been lying under the car scrubbing the oily residue from the underside. Im like a drowned rat now I would definitely say its got new fuel lines

Tomorrows job if its dry is to wax oil the front wheel arches

Thanks. I know what the blue and silver 4HP-18 tag is all about. However, I don't know what this A 100 tag means. Where is it located?
