Last month I bought a '93 convertible 2.3 IL5with some heavy damage on the rearend.
So last weekend I've put some hours in it to straighten this out. i drilled out the wrapped panel on the spotwelds. Then I straightend everyting that was deformed to the size of the new original VAG replacement panel. Welded everything back together and voila
Here is the result.
I also put the newer style convertible bumper on there. What amazes me was that the replacement panel fitted perfectly. All the gaps are nice and even. I was used to aftermarket replacement panels that don't even come close to fitment. So it's worth spending a couple more for the original stuff!
Off to the sprayers!
