Hey everyone. Been scanning the forum for a couple weeks now and figured I would put a thread together. I've recently purchased a 1994 urs4. It has 156,000 miles and is in pretty good shape. This is not my first Audi. I've owned several b5 s4s, b5 a4, and a 200 tq. My family has several audis as well, as they are great reliable cars when looked after. I should also mention that this is my second car, first being a 2015 sti. The motor is being built on that car so my main focus is the s4 right now. The s4 is mainly stock with a stage 1 chip. I have already done some maintaince items including, t belt and water pump, rear brake overhaul, new stainless steel brake lines, new air filter, oil and filter change, valve cover gasket, and a 034 Bosch fuel pump with relay. I would like to do some mild upgrades to the car, and just enjoy it without dumping too much into it. Any ideas will be appreciated! I will post some pics of the car later.
Help me with my urs4!

UrS upgrade options - brakes and chip sets
Where are you really? The US of A is the default country when you sign up.
The reason I ask is it influences what front brakes your UrS4 came with and what the upgrades might be. If you are in NAmerica with G60 brakes, the main upgrades are Boxster, Boxster S and Big Reds/Blacks and appropriate caliper brackets and rotors. If you are in Europe with UFO brakes, then you can modify the hub carrier and install Cayenne 6 pot Brembos (with big wheels). If you are in Europe and have the factory HP2s, you don't really need to upgrade (IMO), except maybe pads.
Have a read on this:

Engine-wise, the best bang for the buck/Euro/pound for performance upgrades from a bog stock AAN or ABY is to chip the ECU to Stage 1+ with a 3 Bar (300 kPa) MAP sensor and appropriate chips. Typically this will get you into the 280 hp range. However, if you are already at Stage 1 (stock 250 kPa (2.5 bar) MAP sensor), then you should already have about 260 hp. Upgrading to Stage 1+ won't be as cost effective as going from stock. A set of Samco turbo to throttle body hoses (3 hoses) will give you piece of mind (and prevent a massive boost leak when the old hoses, used to maybe 17 psig are suddenly subjected to 21 to 24 psig (depending on the Stage 1 (or 1+) you go for.
Here is some MAP sensor info to consider:

Beyond Stage 1+, you can go crazy with RS2 exhaust manifold, RS2 turbo, injectors, Samcos, etc and 3 Bar MAP sensor and 360 hp to 380 hp software. But the larger turbos needed to make this work have more lag and need to be kept on the boil (e.g. 3rd or 4th gear) to have good snap in city traffic. The cost to go to this level is significant and might not make you happy if the UrS is a daily city driver (highway is another story).
Hope that helps.RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan

I live in Denver. So yes I live in the U.S. But the car is a Canadian spec if that makes any difference. I believe the car is currently stage 1. I was thinking of going with 034 stage +1? Any good? Also looking to do some mount upgrades as the drivetrain seems pretty sloppyComment

Not trying to diminish the goodness of this forum but you should join the quattroworld UrS forum. http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/ There a lots of Colorado UrS folks there who can give you personal guidance based on BTDTs. Steve Eiche, a well known UrS chipmeister is in Arvada and can provide you with the necessary ECU upgrades. I would go to him way before going to 034.
I am going to send you a private message here with links to UrS info.

Help me with my urs4!

Couple of updates for today. Got my new n75 valve. The part is for a rs2, and the orientation of the valve was slightly different but it fit no problem. I was having a little bit of boost surge and I figured I would replace this for starters. I spoke with Steve Eiche of Qmulus technology, and he's going to fit his chip and a 3 bar map sensor to my Ecu. Hopefully I see a difference with this. Got my new O2 sensor in the mail today, still waiting for my lower control arms and front rotors.Comment

The 283K RS2 WGFV isn't really that much better than the stock AAN/ABY 283H WGFV. I am running one but only because I have upgraded my AAN with *ALL* the RS2 external goodies (including exhaust cam) so I thought I would be true to the course with the 283K. No improvement in my opinion.Couple of updates for today. Got my new n75 valve. The part is for a rs2, and the orientation of the valve was slightly different but it fit no problem. You will be happy with what we would call a Stage 1+ chip set and 3 Bar Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Should give you around 280 crank HP. Be aware that the increased boost might blow your worn out, oil rotted, "Michelin Man" (cross-over to intercooler) hose.

Got the car cleaned up a little today. Clay bared the paint. The paint is far from perfect but it's cleaned up nicely.
Also swapped out the O2 sensor. Pretty sure this was the original one
So far from changing the WGFV and the O2 sensor the car seems to be running a little better. I wanted to have all the general maintenance items done before doing the chip.

Also have done a little bit of cleaning in the engine bay.

love the S4!!
funny, as my S6 has an identical split on the air box cover too!

Not right away. It is the Michelin Man corrugated hose that blows first. This is because a bit of oil vapour from the PCV system makes its way around the engine and into the intake system. It eventually flows through the Michelin Man hose where it condenses and lays in the grooves of the rubber OE hose, eventually weakening and rotting the hoses. The MAF to cross over hose and intercooler to throttle body hoses don't have any of these oil-trapping pockets and seem to last longer.
AAN PCV system:
