It drove the 170 miles home faultlessly , ticks over lovely , is 1000rpm tick over about right?
It spools up nicely , bear in mind I've never been in one of these properly driven in anger, so nothing to judge it by yet...
managed an average of 30.4mpg on the readout on way home, I always wonder how accurate these actually are? What do others think?
so end home knocking 10% off (27.4)

main issues at present -
need to investigate what I think ? is an exhaust rattle under load from around the front area...
air con only blows same temperature whatever you choose.....? Some have mentioned the stepper motor or a re-gas? , will have a look at urs4boy's threads/links to trace the code on the readout
computer display backlight has gone as its hard to see the readout....

Exhaust rattle will more than likely be heatshields on down pipe or broken cats rattling internally.

Looks like a bit of a bargain.

On my S4 readout is very inaccurate at times. Went to lake district, started with full tank, and on 150 miles trip computer showed 18.5 mpg average, and I filled tank and got 24mpg. On Leeds to London run trip shows 24/25 and actual is 27 ish. So seems like harder you drive more inaccurate read out becomes.

My exhaust dropped quite low after engine was taken out (don't know why) and at the front there is like a bracket under the car, and it was touching that and noise was pretty horrible. Worth checking.

Plenty of UrS6 info on her and Dave's home site, but you know that anyway.

Can't think that your mpg readout is accurate. I've found that the mpg is in the teens in the city / short journeys or early twenties on a run.
