Nothing, they're very highly regarded. But they seem to deal with very high end performance cars and figured they'd charge premium prices too. I went VRS cos of that but also they were much closer I'm sure they'll work magic on your car!

I don't have any affinity to any of the specialists out there and as I want things sorted out sooner rather than later I went there.
Vrs couldn't look at my car for another 2 weeks. My job involves quite a bit of travel so that would put me about a month down the line before anything could get sorted.
Fair enough, Will does seem to have a lot on. Like I said MRC will do a fantastic job on whatever they do, they have a massive reputation!

My trip to MRC for a health check and an inspection leaf to a list as long as my arm. First item on the list was the incorrectly timed cambelt. Had this rectified on Tuesday by Doug. It had been set to the 1oclock position and not the 11 o'clock position so was massively advanced and wouldn't boost properly. Anyway all sorted now and a healthy smile on my way home from Banbury down the country lanes.
Next in the list was rear wishbone bushes on both lower arms. Got some powerflex black series bushes and spent this afternoon at work pressing out the old ones. It took 15 tons to get the large ones out and a hacksaw to help the smaller bushes out!!!
Also had a delivery of a Jetex cat back system which I will get fitted hopefully this weekend. Will update as to the fit and quality when it's on
Wheels are being returned this week at a company called WHEEL CLINIC in Northampton and I've heard their work is first class. Again will post pics when they come back on Friday.
Final part of this weeks job list was to sort out a body shop to paint the car from the glass down.
So yeah a bit hasbeen done. Just don't have any pictures yet - but will try to get some on Friday when I get a day in the garage to carry on

I hope you are exaggerating because the difference between 1 and 11 is 60 degrees and we recently learned that even 10 degrees out on the timing belt will bend all 10 intake valves.

No. It's exactly what Doug at mrc told me. It's in reference to the timing mark which is visible through the small opening on the belt cover. It was only one tooth out in the real world I guess. I doubt it would even run at 60 degrees out of time

I would refrain from repeating a comment like that, even from a well respected 20VT tuner, when it is glaringly wrong since somebody might not realize that it is wrong.

Bottomline: Always time from the cam sprocket and the flywheel timing mark. Accept no substitutes.

Wow. Didn't realise I could and couldn't say certain things on a thread about my own car.
You can obviously say what you want about your car - just don't be surprised if somebody comments on what you say if it is blatantly wrong.
In this case I apologize if you think I was being harsh. You are an new RS2 owner and simply repeated what a well-respected 20VT tuner told you without any filters. I probably would have not said anything if Doug had told you he moved the timing from "12:01 to 11:59", instead of from "1 o'clock to 11 o'clock". He wasn't being literal. But as a new owner you didn't know that.
Hope you enjoy your new found power.

stop being so **** ,us simple folk know what he meant, you was the same on my thread,as ted says back off susan boyle
I have no idea what *you* "simple folk" know or not and I didn't want future mistakes to be made based on "1 o'clock to 11 o'clock". Engineering is just a little more precise than that.

done loads to my rs2 this week but won't bother posting any of it here as urs4boy will probably tell me I've done it all wrong and I know nothing about engineering.
A build thread isn't meant to be full of "I told you so" and "you shouldn't say that"
I'm not posting things to be the last word in historic Audi technical information. That's why I use companies like MRC who have got the technical knowledge.
I can see this being a brief encounter with the s2forum if this continues

Happy to hear it. Please post what you did. I am sure what you did won't warrant anything but positive comments from me. I am only here to try to help forum members if/when I can. Mostly that means me providing people with info about their cars (S2, UrS4/S6 or RS2) that they don't know and I happen to have the resources to know and share. Very rarely does that mean that I try to provide corrections to info others have posted.
I don't know whether you got or opened the PM that I sent you on March 13th in which I said:
" UrS Info that you will find interesting
Nice RS2. I see that your Dad has one too. That should be fun.
Not sure if you two are going to be wrenching on it or get somebody to do it. Either way, you will want to be armed with info about the issue.
One of the things that will come up anytime you have an engine-related problem is pulling DTC /MIL/ check engine light codes. Always a good idea to pull them before you come to the forum with your particular problem. I wrote this post to help with that:
