    S2 write off

Haven't been posting here much lately. This is due to my Audi S2 Coupe being written off by the insurance company.

The car got flooded in a large puddle and consequently suffered internal engine damage plus electrical and interior damage. The exhaust and cats and brakes all got destroyed.

I'll hopefully receive sufficient compensation to allow me to buy another one.

This experience will also reveal just how good or bad Elephant insurance are. I'll keep you updated as I know there are several members who use them.
    Mike

Sorry to hear that Mike - good to hear you are looking at getting another one.

    All from a puddle

Out of interest - do you know where an insurance company will offload S2s in Scotland? Or are they all shipped down south?

Sorry to hear that Mike but it does happen to other people as well.

My brother is a motoring journalist and when he worked for CAR he did the same with a brand new Ferrari 456 :wacked:

Since he has also put a Vanquish off the side of the road and over a log (in the Alps) :eek2:

Now he works for EVO - perhaps we should push for an S2 feature?

        Hope you get it sorted.

Another reminder to me to move my air filter to higher location, how did a puddle do so much damage

              All the best,

Sorry to hear your news, still, you'll probably get a better one next, as the first one was probably a learning curve anyway. Good luck.

I'd had it 5 years and was planning to keep it another 5 so any replacement will need to be as good as the first one. it may have been a learning curve but I knew the car inside out. The new car I'll be back to square one.

                    Awaiting the valuation coming back.

Mike - Are you getting a chance to get anything off your S2?

Do you have the 3 spoke airbagged steering wheel? I'll start bidding at £300 on that ?

Carbon Trim? I'll start bidding at £300 on that?

If you can't buy it back - I would be willing to swap parts?

Sorry for being a vulture !

There is a green L reg for sale in Edinburgh - I'm sure it's in the same street my brother lives - only problem is it says it has 270bhp.

                      Cheers

I'm also a vulture. I could use several parts off that car. Let me know if you get it back.

I'm waiting an offer from the insurance company so I currently don't know if it's possible to get the car.

I've got a queue of folks wanting parts. Carbon trim is probably spoken for but it may get auctioned if it's worth that much :-)

the steering wheel is a standard 3 spoke item with no airbag.

That S2 in Edinburgh has been for sale for more than a month now. it's got disgusting wheels as well as a suspected superchip.

If it is the one I have seen, the wheels aren't to my taste! They might just not have a clue how much power it has as standard. It was on Warrender Park road - parked at the Marchmont Road end. Might get it cheap if it's been up for sale that long?
