  • Audi S6 avant (LTU)

    Hey, guys.

I decided to join your forum and introduce myself and my metal horse
I am from Lithuania, a country that is best known for basketball achievements (at least earlier).

And, I own a car, not that fancy though, but not bad for the moment.
It is a S6 avant 2.2 turbo quattro. No modifications done yet, just plain stock.

Only added, r18 bbs ch 8.5j et35 alloys with 235/40 tires.

Edit: since I have some free time, I'll post more stuff about the car.

    * As I love listening to music when I drive around, the sound/vibro isolation package was installed to all doors

    * new wiring for the music was also installed

    * Alpine CDA-9886r head with usb capability

    * Two aplifiers placed: details about them later

    * Podiums made for the front doors for Morel components 16cm width

    * Read doors received Hertz 13cm width components with crossovers (front as well)

    * Condenser of 1f placed as well

That's all for now Pics later.

Looks nice, just like mine. Except I have the italian model with the wider wheel arches...
    Welcome to the forum.

What a match, mine car is from italy as well If I am right about what you said, then my car has the same wheel arches (the original stuff that is placed on the arches), am I right?

        Oh yes, you have them!
The pics were not very sharp, so I missed them. My apologies.

Yes, we have exactly the same car, same color as well. Clones

Yeah, I know, my phone does not have the chance to show the "whole picture". No need for apologies. At the moment, I am having a battle with the car. It seems that another leak appeared in the intake hoses or the ignition coil is failing. Hard to find the problem, when the diagnostic equipment in the car is not the expressive

It is actually not very hard to find faults with the car.
First thing should always be a boost leak test with a compressor and pulling of codes with VAG-COM.

Vag com shows no signs of faults. And the measuring (live data) also shows nothing. Your method should help a lot, but the problem is that nobody in LTU has the brains to make such thing During the weekend I suppose I'll make some progress, even though it's not warm to be under the car outside (I do not have a garage) This is the least of my problems. Lately, I am thinking a lot about increasing few horses under the hood, but most chip tuning specialists do not chip 20v (unless you pay them tons of money). Ebay few months ago had a nice MTM chip, that would have increased up to ~300 hp.

If you like, I can let my friend make you a boost leak tester out of metal.
It will cost about 30 EUR plus shipping.
Or you can find a 80mm blank, blank off the MAF, find a 20mm blank, blank off the PCV and then insert a cut off tyre nipple into the bypass vacuum hose and pressurize from there.

As for chipping and remaps - I got you covered there, up to 700hp.
Be it live tuning or just a stage 1 remap
And I don't charge stupid prices.

                P.S.
                Don't buy chips from eBay...

That would be awesome, thank you But let's make this purchase from the beginning of the next month, ok?

Talking about chip tuning, I would have to bring my car over to you? Logically, live tuning can be performed by comparing live data from the dyno stand. If yes, then it would be a bit too expensive, as I am not a millionaire (not even close)

For a stock car you can have good results with just a generic chip. So you will probably have to mail me the ECU, as S6 ECU is not socketed from factory, and unless you have experience soldering and desoldering electronics, it is better for me to do it...

I have an airfield where I map stuff, if needed... there are no good / affordable dynos in Estonia anyway.
But I would say that there is no big point to map a stock car. The gains over a good generic remap would be minimal, and a lot of time and money involved.
If you decide to upgrade your car beyond stock configuration, that is where you will benefit strongly from live mapping.

I have removed few times the ECU itself, but I have not opened it. About mailing it, yes, I could do that, but if it takes not much time (to open it and to remap it simply), I would somehow find a way to travel to your garage (as it is very interesting to see how it's done). By the way, would it be possible to save the stock software, just in case, something would happen?

Remapping the thing is done by replacing two EPROM chips and optionally the MAP sensor. This is in case of generic chips. Live mapping is done completely differently.
The problem is that in stock form these chips are soldered to the board, so they need to be desoldered and sockets soldered in, into which the chips are then inserted.

It is not hard to desolder DIP28 components, but I would not advise someone with little electronics experience to go and have a go at his ECU. Potential mistakes can be made and be costly...

When you get to it, we will figure something out. If you need the car every day I can probably send you an exchange ECU etc...

I would not make any changes by myself, I am not qualified for such stuff. That is why I'm not in a hurry to do something. I want it done properly By the way, prj, if it's ok to ask, could you PM me with the prices of just remaping the ecu. Map sensor would have to be replaced if the pressure would exceed 1.5 bar? In other words, stock sensor is capable of handling pressure withing 2.5bar (including absolute pressure)? I believe this sensor is the most expensive part in remaping
