0-100-0 record car, can you beat it?

I noticed Ultima have got the 0-100-0 record. this is in a fully road legal car.

I wonder how close some of the cars on the forum would be. Any takers?

Tough to beat! Lightweight car with big heaps of horse pressure. We have traction on our side, but the laws of physics (captain) would demand a lightweight. I'm sure something like Dialynx's own shorty Quattro Sport would be up for a shout, they've seen 0-60 in a sniff over 3 sec IIRC, so maybe??? I know at least one guy has a Sapphire Cossy with an unofficial 0-60 of 2.99 sec, same goes for him I guess.

Anyone else up for this?!! I reckon it's a good definition of pure performance (excludes handling!), not just go but stop as well. Sort of like drag racing but with a double ended nature to it.

Golf R32 twin turbo did 0-60 in 2.79 at GTi this year. I think that one could be in with a chance and it was pushing out a claimed 550bhp. Looked stock until you got up close and saw the big Brembo/RS4 brakes. Problem is, Aerodyanimcs play a huge part if you are going to 100mph so I think the Ultima would be extremely tough to beat without monster BHP...800+ should do it in an S2!!

The Dialynx car was matched on the quarter by that R32 at GTi this year. Very impressive for a car that looked bog standard from 10 yards away.
