Spent 10 minutes looking through this.
Fantastic work-amazing they have time to sell car parts with all the work on the race car-good to have your own source of spares at hand!

I had a similar idea of a mk 1 scirocco over a cq floor pan when I was about 15
Dad wasn't impressed when I suggested using his scirocco though

I naturally assumed this would be another mad Swedish/Norwegian/Finnish creation, was quite shocked to see it was British

Haha Seems that there is also crazy people elsewhere than in Scandinavia.

That is some dreadful panel making.
Where has this new accepted fashion of weld some ruff shapes together and wack a tub of filler on and it's a great piece of work. Never a wheeling machine insight.
When I was learning how to make panels filler was the Devils jism.

I used to have a 1977 SAAB 96 back in the early 2000s. I spent approx 2500 quid collecting bits to build a 1700cc engine for it only to find that I got the power up from 65 to about 110hp. Nippy but not what you'd call fast. If I still had it it would now be on fuel injection and management.

Eventually I got sick of trying to source repair panels and it wasn't actually that nice to drive so I decided to replace it with something non rusty with a powerful engine. I don't regret getting my S2 one bit.

I also used to have one of the rather strange 84 & 85 only Saab 90s. Think SAAB 99 front end with the rear of a 900 saloon. Pretty slow and thirsty but it handled quite nicely on Jamex springs.

Sometimes I dream of getting a 99 turbo but prices for them are mental nowadays.

                      Cheers

Great idea, lovely work., but IMHO they've missed a huge trick, they shouldn't have tried to extend the wings, and loose the shape, but cut the 96 right down the middle and welded in the necessary metal to make both sides wide enough for the modern shell/running gear.

                        Just my tuppence.
