140 miles a week!
I drive 150-180 miles a week just going to the gym! But then I do live in upcountry Wales.
The car can take it mate as many on the forum will attest.
You'd be a looney in my book to buy a car from a dealer with no comment from the previous owner (regardless of what it looks like) over a car for sale on this forum on which you can get all the feedback in the world.
If you're not convinced by the owner, ask around and see what others have to say about it.
And just for reference, I have NCTS Andy at all!

Perhaps an S2 Turbo & Manifold cookbook could be written. Recipies could include sausages and egg and other such manly food! Great for those hungry periods after a long thrash!?
Cheers SR71 for the sensible words of advice. I know what it's like gearing up to buy an S2. I too went through a dealer as the right car came up at the right price. Knowing what I know now, I would probrably buy one off an enthusiast through this site. With a dealer, there was no chance to speak with previous owners to try and get to the bottom of the problems that I had with the car in the first couple of months (turned out to be some serious boost leaks) and no chance to get a feel for how it had been looked after, other that the service history. It was up to me to pull it apart and find out for myself as I went along. The previous owners had certainly spent a lot of money on the old girl but a bit of understanding of such a complicated car has saved me £100s in labour over the last year+ and means that I can identify small problems and rectify them quickly and cheaply (many thanks to all on the forum for their help since I joined btw!).Cheers'en, AndyC

Yes it is true.Originally posted by S2RooThe guy selling it said the previous owner was an art dealer that has moved to South Africa. Is that true???
It is a very nice car. The previous owner was not an "enthusiast" in the S2 forum sense of the word and not hugely mechanically minded, but he looked after the car well and loved the car dearly and really wanted to keep it, but it was too expensive to ship to SA. If he had more time he would have perservered with trying to get a better price but his departure date got in the way and he ended up selling it a week before he left.Last edited by AAH!; 31 October 2005, 14:50.formally RS2 +Comment
