    Carbon radiator shroud

    Hi all

Following on from the Billing meet and the carbon radiator shroud that was given away as a prize. We now have these available for all members. I have attached some pictures of the part fitted to Greg's car. This was the first part made and following some comments from the meet, our next parts will be more Bling, with a shiny finish.

Our price for these will normally be £145 each, but if we can get 10 members together, then we can offer them at £130 each.

So then guys, who is up for one?

will you be doing a 3B spark lead cover in carbon? I reckon that would look seriously sweet...

3B Cambelt cover? I remember Steve H had one of those. I had trouble handing it back to him.

Cam belt cover and spark plug cover are next on the list i think.

Would like to see how much interest there is in the radiator shroud first before we invest too much money.

Can I suggest a thread with a poll or have you done that aleady?

Then you could get some idea of which parts people would be interested in. Also a ball park figure for their costs would aid the decision making too. I would be interested in some of these parts, but I think the pricing is probably a little high for me personally at the moment to justify them. They do look nice though!

            Cheers,

Yeah. Still a little pricey for me. But I do love that carbon, so I'm still tempted.

No offense to SimonS4MTM, but I agree with Fat Audi 80. The pricing seems a little steep, particularly for an engine bay accessory which will not have any effect on the capabilities of the car, just make it look 'bling'. After all, these cars are sleepers, so we don't spend all night at the local Clio & Rice burners meet with our bonnets and boots up and 4 million watts of crap teeny music blaring out. (anyone wo does will have their S2 removed)

One of the things people often talk about on here is the weight of the S2. So are there any areas (particulary up front) where we can replace parts with carbon fibre to save weight? Painted in the original colour, these parts would maintain the sleeper
image, but improve the car (handling/cornering, performanc, braking etc).

I would love a carbon bonnet and would spend money on that.

If combined with other weight saving ideas, I would love to see a calculation of the total weight to be saved on a standard S2, without loosing the sleeper look. For instance, changing the glass fog lights for plastic might save 1/2 kilo. When added to other changes might add up to a serious differnce.

                Cheers n
