Are you asking about this because you are considering bying the engine or because you have nothing else to do ?

First of all, the air filter is located in front of the exhaust manifold where the air hits first an thus is not pre-heated by the exhaust manifold.

Secondly the air filter is located roughly 10 inches below the exhaustmanifold where it is cooler because hot air rises.
