I want to go to Italy for the parts AND the ride. Last road trip I did was Paris to Malmo in Sweden. Took 10 days but spent 2 on the Champes Elyse getting mashed 5 in Amsterdam getting massed!

This will be a laugh! Need a few days notice though to clear it with the boss first. I'll work lates to cover this one!

When do we expect ot go? A few guys would make light work of stripping that car.
Shall we take a Merc Sprinter, an Avant, van and car or two Avants?

Anyway sounds a good idea to me finding out if there is a real interes in this deal and approx what would it mean in terms of time and money.
This way I'll have a max value to offer to the seller to make the deal worth.

Then, maybe, I'll go there spending one full day (and a half), 200 euros for the trip and a couple of gigantic lies to my wife, just to figure out the guy said a bunch of bulls@@@t and the parts are just junk.

Here's a thought: My mates dad is a Director at Audi in Ingolstadt. If people want to make this a proper road trip I might be able to arrange a visit to the new Audi museum and a tour of the Audi A3 factory in Ingolstadt. I've done it and it was wicked. I've also got a good mate in Frankfurt if we want a stopover. That town is really cool for bars and things. Just some ideas for the melting pot.

So, I can take my 'funbus' and Martin wants to take his 'slippermobile'. We can carry passengers but I would prefer just one or two so I can at least put half the rear seat down for the return trip if required. All depends on how much stuff is available and how much we have to bring back. The S2 Avant is not that cavernous and it is rather narrow. If the bonnet is available I'll tie it to the roofbars! Just have to wait to see what there is and how much cash this bloke wants for the stuff to see how much it puts punters off.

How far is it from the ferry to Marco's?

I can't think of anything I want (unless that front bumper is repairable!) but there must be some RS2 bits others want : rear spoiler, exhaust camshaft, head, air con bits, metal intake pipe (ant?).

I'll go and pick up the parts next Saturday (2 days and ~ 2 hours from now ).

I will work on Saturday probably till midnight, so I won't have any chance to sleep.
I'll be back home Sunday about 2-3 am.
Let me have some hours of sleep and some hours with wife and son ( ). I guess I'll be ready to give some numbers for next Monday.
