i'm sure you could make them fit. I looked at some S3 seats a while back, i was gonna choose them or 996 seats.

IIRC You can just get the Recaro subframes to fit the S2/80

.....they did indeed and and sit very nicely in my Avant with Recaro Sport Trendines on top

saves 16kgs over the standard cloth seats too!
