1988 Golf GTi 8v - 'Millionth Golf' Special Edition

As many have more than likely read, my atempts to sell the S2 have been scuppered by a lack of buyers. Therefore it's time to offer my daily run around to the masses of the S2 Forum...
    • 1988 Golf GTI - Atlas Grey, 90 spec with one piece windows and Digifant injection.
    • It's the millionth Golf SE and comes with 14" Le Castallet alloys and I think tinted glass.
    • The engine is a standard 1.8 8v PB Digifant unit except for a k&N filter and drilled air box (sounds awesome) but a standard one can be swapped in if you'd like. At 167k it does burn oil, although this has been a constant over the 8k that I have done in it. Probrably needs a head rebuild but a secondhand one is so cheap that it's no major problem. I've just never bothered as it's cheap motoring.
    • The bodywork is in very good condition for it's 17 years and from when I've had the interior out etc. many panels are solid and even original. There is some rust in the usual mk.2 places - under the blanking plug for the LHD wiper. One of the rear panel joins below the rear lights and the boot. There is also a patch on the passenger upper sill that I uncovered when bored and have treated but never filled and painted. Nothing major or structural.
    • The interior is immaculate - period (to use and Americanism). Speedo ticks but I just turn the stereo up!
    • Tyres are fine and have many 000 miles left.
    • The car drives very well with almost no rattles, clunks etc. It was owned by the daughter of a local VW specialist and has been maintanied very well before and during my ownership.
    • The car has recently fitted VR6 rear callipers, Brembo Max front discs and Pagid fast road pads, wipers (WOW!) and a few other bits and pieces.
    • 6 months tax as of next month. Mot till september.
    • Perfect track day car (I'd love to see it stripped out with an ABF 16v in the front!)...
    • ...or simply a cheap run around.
    • Located in Bristol.

    £650 ono.

I was waiting for that one...

I'll post pics when it's a) light enough to take some and b) the car's clean!

Such are the downsides of being a dynamic decision making machine!

Genuine reason for sale, Porsche brakes required.
