    IC: 1991 S2 Coupe - anyone interested?

I'm rather surprised to find myself posting this one up, and I know this is a slow-as-hell time to sell up but... it's also a great time to buy

So I've been thinking about turning to the dark side and picking up a well-spec'd ABY ready to kick off a 400BHP project - this would put my current 3B surplus to requirements, at current spec:

    -17" RS4 reps, Toyo T1's w/ 3k miles
-996 Brake conversion (will have new pads)
-Greddy Boost guage, Samco's, MarkH mod.
    -K&N air intake
-Soon to be fitted 3" longlife cat back + decat pipes (planning on having ex. WG piped back into main system at the same time)
    -7A ex. cam
    -Custom MRC remap
    -141k on clock

Strongest 3B you'll ever find, a reliable ~300bhp with this setup, FSH till Chris M had the car, then he did alot of work himself.

If I do advertise I'd put it up probably at £4750, but of course forum discount applies here. I'd consider an offer over 4g's but if there is no interest I keep the car and pump it full of (more) steroids - I just think I'd like to use a car a few years younger and have a 6-speed box if it's gonna be my project for the next couple of years... miss the ABS switch tho...

    Any comments or questions welcome!

    cheers,
    Ross

You know you have a point... a 3B is a real man's S2 after all.

Can always do a 6-speed conversion too, I'l be taking notes at the garage meet!

Had a look at an ABY today (belonged to Frank, Baldy's mate). V. nice car; immaculate in and out, huge brakes up front - reminded me of Ross' GT3's! At 6K it's a bargain, with over 300BHP dyno'd and since then it's had a brand spanking RS2 turbo fitted, begging to go on a date with Mihnea...

But, returning home, I saw my car on the drive and felt like I needed to 'fess up about cheating on her... dunno, it's a hard one! Could just invest the money in her - need to start reading about an elipsoid/HID conversion tho... I WANT ONE!!!

            Undecided,
            Ross

Trading your 3B for an ABY.
I can recommend the conversion to ellipsoids and HIDs. £££ but worth it.

What kinda costs? To be honest, I am thinkng that I can save some weight, keep my ABS cancel switch, and the £££ I'd be spending could be invested into getting the bearings and metal gasket done and an RS2 manifold, fix the AC and get aero wiper's, short-shift kit and also I got pissed off not seeing the road the other night and decided I want HIDs... better start trawling the forums for reading material methinks - that's what night shifts are for haha..

Then I'll be ready to start looking for a big turbo

Book me up for a demo of the brightest lights in town at the garage meet.

I'll dig out my invoices to let you know the cost of my headlight conversion. I know it's in excess of £500 in total.
But as I say, worth every penny, when you can actually see where you are going at night.

I was amazed at the difference in light output just by upgrading to ellipsoids TBH. But I soon got used to them.

Hmm.. I think £500 is a bit excessive at the mo, considering all the other upgrades I'd love to make!! I was thinking more like half that value... would that get me upgraded to Elipsoids?

I'll be there on Sunday btw - wouldn't mind a demo! My beams have uprated bulbs and they're not bad, but dips are just awful.

I think my ellipsoids cost ~£300 for the pair from my local stealer. But they do perform noticeably better than ellipsoids that are ~10 years old. Just ask Jamo.

During the week my S2 only comes out at night, as I have my 2.3 mid-engined rwd jap racer for daily driving. That’s how I justified spending so much money to improve night time driving.
