Pearlescent White Metallic Coupe quattro 20v. Full S2 Leather & many other s2 mods!
A move up to an S2 forces the sale of my Pearl White cq20v. This is an increasingly rare beast to get of hold of - particularly in such good condition and very few have the level of S2 spec upgrades that this one has!

For anyone out there who doesn't know these cars the cq20v was only made between 1989 -1991 and the 20v engine produces 170 of snarling BHP! Sitting between the old shape UR quattro and its successor the S2, the 20v engine is seen by many as one of the best and strongest engines Audi ever produced - even lacking a turbo its packs quite a punch and pulls like a train!
He's some general info on mine:
Tubular Manifold and De-catted
One of the first things to point out is that this car comes with the very rare and sought after tubular exhaust manifold. Combine this with the stainless steel cat replacement pipe and K&N panel filter and it gives far greater flexibility of power delivery than usually found in the 20v engine. This car drives almost the same as my 2.3e 10v regarding pull in the lower rev range, still eager and punchy whereas many 20vs can feel flat till the main power kicks in around 4K . Makes it a much more versatile car to drive, spreading the power band and smoothing delivery at higher revs, all the way up to the redline. Other than the SS cat pipe the mid-exhaust section is only a year old and the original UR Quattro rear box is also part stainless.
Full S2 Leather Interior
The inside of the car has been really freshened up with a full S2 leather interior - nice colour somewhere between beige and light tan! Also the later leather so no baggy seat pan! Finishing touch is the lovely walnut cappings which give a real air of distinction inside - huge improvement on the very dated grey stripe velour and "sticky back plastic" styled zebrano wood trim which is the usually spec in these cars!
Other cosmetic improvements include a rare Kamei Sports Grill with Genuine RS2 Rings (was going to sell separate due to interest but will remain on the car if asking price or close is achieved!), later S2 taillights, (big improvement over standard orange one which again are very dating) clear genuine S2 indicators and side repeaters which further freshen up the car and complement the pearlescent paintwork which is in great overall condition. TSW 16†Imolas give a really sporty look. Some slight kerbing there but nothing too bad – and I’ll throw in the nut spanner too!
Full S2 Suspension
Handling and poise was greatly improved by fitting S2 springs and shocks including S2 front struts to handle the beefier front dampers. Also lower the car slightly by 35mm. Rose jointed alloy top mounts that practically never wear out and uprated wishbone bushes have also helped to stiffen up the handling and ride quality, with steering being sharp and precise.
So, to summarise then , other than the usual cq20v specs we have:

Full S2 suspension (springs and dampers) lowering the car by 35mm

Everything works as it should and has been well maintained as you'd expect and the car has been a regular on the Audi Owners Club stands last year. Only thing I can think of is that the aircon could do with regassing as Ive never used it - cold enough up North!! Ive been very particular to get everything just right - even down to fixing the classic “sagging centre consol†problem, and detail such as making sure that all the dash etc lights work ok - such as the diff lock illumination!!
This is a lovely car, looks great in pearl white, handles like a dream with smooth, growling power delivery which sounds terrific! I will sure miss that sound!! 180K on the clock with only 3 owners from new including me, full service history with receipts for over £11K being spent on her over the years (and a lot more since Ive had her!) in a nice fat file of receipts. This has been a well looked after car and certainly been doted on by me - with most of the work expertly carried out by Jason (Jas11n), his bro Paul (Armo750) and Mark (Rotoryboy)!
Just passed it's MOT (after failing only on a sticking parking brake) and 5 months tax!
