Was thinking the same thing .....for all the money he spent on it i dont think he will get allot of that back.........we all now you can spend a fortune doing your car up but at the end of the day it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and that is never the same amount that you have spent
Jamo that is a fair point well made. In the cars defence, or the upgrades defence,it does have the desirable options in terms of the Sportquattro EM the front inlet IM and a SQ type airbox. These prices alone, let alone the cost of the hybrid turbo ( anyone know what spec this is?) would be getting on for a couple of K.Then theres the bigger brakes and uprated suspension....The cost of this conversion - according to the ad is £11.3k. I would imagine taking the car elsewhere for like for like spec it has got to be costing at least £5k upwards...........
The arguing point,IMO,is whether you need the amount of "part changing" to get the 420 bhp.Starting with a stock S2 then you certainly need to start changing EM, turbo, etc.
However from RS2 315 spec for just a remap there are companie out there that are achieving ~360bhp......quite how much further you have to go to get the other 60 is always open to debate.......
Difficult to say what the car is worth. At the current price its RS2 money. What is decent money for a late ABY coupe £6-7K ? I suppose the mods have would like to gain a couple of K so would £9-£10k be a fair price........
Equally look at the spec on Habibs 450bhp S2 that was for sale ( albiet an earlier 3b/5 speed) That had lots of £££ chucked at it, and still struggled to sell.
